With support ending and connection to my old Computrainer with Zwift more difficult, time for a new trainer. Hit me up with your suggestions and why. The goods and not so good aspects. Not made of money so will throw that out there, would like to learn why if one versus other is worth any cost difference. Thank!!!
If you’re in the UK or EU you can’t get a better deal than this:
Solid trainer, all the modern features and capable enough for everyone below the absolute elite level.
Another safe choice would be a used Kickr Core V1 if you want to consider the used market. It’s been sold in volume since 2018 and has received firmware updates through 2024. It’s a widely used and well understood trainer, and that’s a good place to be.
Agreeing with the others, Wahoo Kickr or the Kickr Core 2. Safe purchases.
Wahoo’s customer service is excellent, I’ve got a Kickr Bike (a first generation one) that needed a few repairs to the seat post mechanism. Wahoo sent the parts out at no cost with instructions. Even the shifter hoods which stretched over time, they sent new ones out right away.
I splurged for the Kickr, cog, and Click shifters…$599 in the US. Could not pass that up.
As ever it depends on your own situation. Google cheapest smart bike trainer for all the choices, some not so cheap.
I got one off eBay about 3 years ago & it’s not caused me any problems. Cost me £250. It’s a Noza S Power Trainer, they’re Made by Acer the computer people. I just stick my road bike on it, plug it in & fire up the 9th gen iPad, no problem. You would need to buy the same cassette that your bike has if you were going to give any of them like it a try though, and fit it, obvs.
