Rowing in Zwift

Yes, Painsled still works fine for me, both on iPhone and on an old Android tablet. Sometimes I use Zwift on AppleTV, sometimes a Windows laptop, both work fine. There’s a few things to keep in mind: In Painsled you need to go to the settings and activate the “ZWIFT” option, and Painsled only works for Zwift cycling, not Zwift running. If you want to use Zwift running you have to use the Android version of RowedBiker.

Do you see your Pixel7 on your Zwift pairing screen? As you mentioned it does not work to choose the PM5 as power source in Zwift, you need to choose your Painsled device.

Every now and then I get similar connection issues as you describe (about once or twice a year, maybe related to iOS updates). It always helped to switch everything off and start again.

Maybe the developer @J_Terrell can give further advice?

I have not heard of PainSled NOT working with Zwift, so I’m assuming it still does. Kerstin gave some good advice about avoiding the “PM5” device that might show up. That is an FTMS Rower Bluetooth profile being broadcast by the Concept2 monitor that will not work with Zwift.

If it still doesn’t work, feel free to continue the discussion here or hit the support email in the app. PainSled has not been updated since 2018 (time flies!) but it’s still chugging along and I leave it up for folks who are getting some use from it. It’s easy enough to get a refund, but let’s see if we can make it work for you.

Row/ride on!

James
