3+ years ago when I was healthier and far fitter, I did a few Zwift rides 90-180mins long, but I don’t recall ever doing a workout that big.
What they’re doing is providing that option, in a “two out of three ain’t bad” philosophy. One of the things is tougher in its category and that is 750XP. One of the things is easier in its category and that is 250XP. The remaining thing is more intermediate and that is 500XP.
So this week’s workout is the tough thing (750XP), the climb portal is annoying, but not super annoying (500XP), and the route is a cakewalk (250XP).
I picked Workout Of The Week for climb portal and then manually navigated the flattest parts of France because the climb portal duration was about 40 minutes shorter than the workout while doing the workout on the climb portal route.
I did the full 90 minute Workout of the week on the Climb Portal of the week, and let it navigate me once the climb portal and descent was done. I made it almost to the top of Peitit KOM before the workout was done.
U could still lower ur FTP and use it as 90 Min of Z1/Z2-training.
I’d struggle to recall the last time I did a 90mins session on the turbo, I had severe saddle pain while cooling down from Tiny Races a short time ago.
Albeit my preferred saddle for turbo (seller SMP extra), that helps relieve my saddle issues on turbo, is on my ebike.
It would be good to have the route, climb and exercise of the week in the companion app so I can plan which to do and to fit it into my schedule.
Agreed. But in the meantime, this is very useful:
THanks Steve,
That one is a lot more useful, i didnt know that triple calendar existed. I can also understand why weekly stuff doesnt make it into the companion app, but Zwift must be big enough by now to have closer control and updates on the whole environment.
Like that one though, thanks again,
Pete
Why has zwift taken the weekly workout out of this. I really miss it!
