Required cadence too fast for gearing?

Just started zwift and doing FTP builder. Using Vortex Smart with old MTB at the moment with 3 front and 5 rear gears but find that I can keep wattage in right ranges but only using much slower cadence than the 90-100 that Zwift asks for. Reistance in workouts doesn’t seem to change in the way it does using Tacx TTS4 so not sure whether there’s a setting somewhere I need to change- increased resistance would mean I could drop down a couple of gears and get cadence up- or do i just accept low cadence if wattage is right. Advice appreciated…

While doing a workout, look for a button that will say either ERG mode or gradiant. If it says gradient (or maybe grade - i don’t remember) click it to change to ERG. If it already says ERG, post back as it would mean you have other issues.
