I don’t know if I am alkne in thinking this, but, it’s a shame that there isn’t a 1.1w/kg (Taylor) Robopacer for the Rapha festive 500 events.
For me, continuously doing 1.5 w/kg, for an entire 50km is just a little bit too much!
Any chance this could be done Zwift? Surely it wouldn’t be too hard to organise?
I joined several of the Rapha rides.
Some riders ride well off the front and catch the higher group that departed earlier.
Some riders ride well off the back of their robo pacer.
It’s really your call how to ride it. There is no penalty for not sticking with the robo pacer.
maybe, but a look at a past E pen, there really isn’t much. I would be interested in knowing though what time Bernie actually completed this ride at, since the time spread on the bulk of the field ranges from about 1hr 23’ to 1hr 43’ (about a 20 minute variance). I guess the RPs haven’t registered for Zwiftpower
I rode E with Bernie yesterday, sticking with the Robopacer throughout and finishing together within a bike length. My time was 1:40:44 at average 1.4 W/kg.
Thank you for the response. Am I correct in understanding that the last Rapha 500 group ride is today at 13:00 (UTC+1:00), and there are no more after that, or am I missing something?
You have it correct, as far as I can see. The actual Rapha 500 (outside Zwift) ends today, so it makes sense that the Zwift events also end today. I’m surprised that the Zwift events only run till lunchtime in the UK, but that’s how it looks.
