I would preface this by saying that I am only responsible for racing events, I don’t know when either Zwift Academy or the Femmes events will be published but I understand your points.
I would normally post my racing events 10 days ahead of launch but on this occasion I was asked to leave them until Thursday. This allowed for the “surprise” nature of Tour Fever (although this was announced on TSOZ) but I recognise and understand the feedback that there should have been more notice. I have passed this onto the team responsible for Tour Fever (as noted above).

On the Loop de Loop de Loop TT today, on being released from the start gate there was a message saying ‘approaching start’, or something similar to this, and there was then around a 3km lead in to the starting arch. In the results the time has been taken from the release at the start gate. This seems a little misleading. Can you clarify for future TTs will the time be taken from the initial release from the start gate or from passing through the start arch following the lead in?
I believe it is from the gate.

Lead in is always part of the race, no exceptions.

There are exceptions to this, maybe not in the ones you’re currently organising but they can and do exist.
The old Hill Climb Racing Club only used the KOM segment. The Velos Klick series races don’t start until after the lead in, sometimes that’s at the end of the start pens, sometimes it’s at a banner. I’m sure there are other events set up like that too. They show “approaching start line” until you get to whatever the start line is.
The simple fact that the “approaching start line” message exists in the game shows that there must be cases where the start line isn’t the gate.

Yep fair point. However the in game results don’t display this and include the lead in.
Iirc also the on-screen timer only starts when you leave the start pen area (might be world-dependent though) which might in some cases add to the confusion. I would expect that the timer start when the event starts (in cycling, anyway).

The clock starts ticking halfway between “where the last pens merge on to the road out of the pens” and “where the road out of the pens turns on to the actual lead-in”.
