I have a Horizon 7.0at treadmill set up with qz app and swift, and allthough auto inclination does sort of work, I get double the % incline on my treadmill than what Zwift say.
So every small hill becomes a massive hurdle… a 5% hill on zwift become a 10% incline on my treadmill. Just going over a bridge becomes a 8-10% incline.
Anyone know what the issue might be?
Yep. There a setting where you can override the incline. You need to set it to 0.5 and not 1.
@Roberto_Viola correct setting?

Use the zwift inclination gain to 0.5
Create a ticket on github for future questions
Thanks
Depending on what map you are on, you will need to adjust the settings that Stuart and Roberto have mentioned. I actually found that .55 works best for me in Watopia, .75 for New York and 1.1 for Makuri Island. At least on the routes I’ve run there. Like you I am on a Horizon 7.0
Thanks alot!
But setting it to 0.5 made it waaaay worse, probably 4x zwift incline, but by setting it to 2.0 i got veeery close.
Good info Bryan. There is variance between worlds for sure.

I’m keeping an active spreadsheet for each route I’ve run, and compare the run against both ZI route data and my rides on the same route
I’d be keen on seeing that data. Can you run every route by the end of the week please?

You sound like my manager “Hey, a new feature has dropped and we need to test it by Friday”. I’ve actually considered creating a dummy account (not to be confused with the account this dummy uses) and “bot” routes with QZ to see what the ones I haven’t run yet report.
To me, the key ones are
Oh Hill No: official is 1,004, I got 1,588 on the default and 973 with QZ set to .5
Epic Run: official is 971, I got 815 with QZ set to .5
Road to Sky: official is 3,434, I got 3,317 with QZ set to .5
Radio Rendezvous, official is 2,441, I got 2,510 with QZ set to .55
Well i wouldn’t fancy running PRL London Full for real.
I barely survived riding the Full PRL, the thought of spending that much time on a treadmill boggles my mind. Although, thinking about it, my local running store has a great treadmill setup, maybe I can reach out to them and see about a charity challenge.
Probably looking 15+ hours to run that.
Shame it’s not possible to set it up so that you could get multiple people to run a lap each. I’d happily help out. That said there’s no badge for completion so the reward for such an effort is zilch.
My longest IRL is 44, with three 1/2 hour naps, or just under 36 with no naps (I’m old, slow and stubborn), it’s not the hours that will get to me, but the boredom of the machine. Even with QZ setting the incline to make it more interesting, not sure what my limit would be. I’m thinking about Everesting on the bike this weekend, which will move my Zwift limit from 12 to 18 hours, so that might give me an idea of whether I could push 100 on the treadmill. To be honest though, if I was going to go for the 100 miles I’d probably double the Z-Games Epic or triple Dust In The Wind (or Bigger Loop)
I’m having same problem with auto inclination on my Reebok FR30Z. It works but same as Magne, I was getting ‘near’ double coming through to the treadmill and again same as Magne, using 0.5 actually seemed to make it worse rather than halving and it seemed to be doubling again, so I tried what Magne had done with using 2 and that didn’t work either. Eventually I got pretty close with 0.9. This was in Makuri Mech Isle Loop, but have tried it in different locations and agree it seems to require different settings. But I couldn’t see any logic in what changing the numbers was doing. Why would 1 be doubling but 0.9 bring it back closer to the actual numbers?
What settings have you guys got your Min. Inclination and Max Inclination set to?
It might be different for different treadmills, but it could be an idea to get an open source spreadsheet going on this where we can all add the settings we’ve tried for different routes. I just pray that Zwift add this functionality properly, now they offer it for the Wahoo Kickr Run, feels like it should be rolled out for other FTMS Treadmills. I’d happily pay for it.
