Problem with login to Zwift via German Telekom

you have to choose a server in the usa?

I dont think so - it just works for me.
Other people were using servers in Belgium and it worked for them.

thank you for the tip :+1:

Seems the problem is solved.

My last ride was April 1st and I had to use a VPN.
Today (April 5th) I rode the Haute Route Stage 3 (D) at 6pm CEST and everything worked without VPN. The event had over 1200 riders and the connection was absolutly stable.

Zwift users are a drop in the ocean when it comes to this issue, the number of users is comparatively small and the bandwidth required per user is on par with low-resolution video if even that. Based on what I have read, I guess the main factor for this issue is Twitch.

Of course are german Zwift-users nothing compared to pornhub-viewers or sth else.
But thatā€™s what itā€™s about in this thread

We should wait until 2-3 weekdays have shown that the problem is fixed. There were already two reports in the past that the problem was resolved and the results showed otherwise.

Today no problem logging in at 17:30.

Dear Zwift,
I have just cancelled my membership.

Why? Because I am seriously fed up. Your service is practically unusable since weeks, and I am not willing to continue paying for something I cannout use.

The problems with access from Germany are persisting since weeks, you communicated via multiple channels that the problems are resolved, but they arenā€™t. Even worse, itā€™s getting worse. Whilst in the beginning using VPN was an easy workaround, even this isnā€™t working anymore. I have 2 highspeed landlines available with different providers, and 2 mobile 4G networks, but I just again spent an unsuccessfull hour trying to get Zwift running with any of them.

I am fed up with spending an hour in front of my PC every evening, with an either continuously crashing or freezing or error-message throwing Zwift application and giving up in the end. I am fed up with signing up for group rides or meetings with my friend that are not happing, because your platform isnā€™t working for the paying end customer since half a month.

You had weeks to provide at least some mitigation measures, but communication is a one-way channel Iā€™m afraid. No sign of action or at least some effort or a slight sorry on your side to improve the situation for central Europe platform access. In times we need you most, you are unfortunately not performing at all and letting us down. Stopping my subscription is without alternative, as it would be schizophrenic to keep paying for a not usable service.

Zwift is great as such. The alternatives are way worse, but at least they work.
Goodbye!

Just for your information - Germany is not equal central Europe, there are no problems in Austria and the most countries in central Europe.

Yes, Zwift should do something - or try to do and report to the community.
But fact is, there are new peaks of Zwifters every consecutive week and the service is (with some problems) running.

Sorry for the users in Germany, ride on.

Just want to note, that the problem came up today again. 1st of may 2020. Iā€™m on a backbone of DTAG aka a reseller called 1&1.
The connection to Zwift does not work via my DSL landline.
Iā€™m kind of annoyed and do look for a solution.

This problem was not the same problem, since a large number of european ISPs were also affected.

I guess a hardware problem in a exchange node or a DDoS attack was the problem this time. But it should be okay by now.

Zwift should really consider hosting some servers in Europe to handle their EU-customers.

Theyā€™re not actually hosting servers, theyā€™re using AWS services.

AWS has also servers in europe.
