I’m going to do a 1.5 ride. with the Pack today and will use the remote control as a TEMPORARY workaround. Hopefully it’ll work. But this problem of not being able to get helicopter or drone view or even bird’s eye view from app is not resolved.
So it turns out the wireless keypad and the mouse app —- all using Bluetooth- have been interfering with my wahoo kickr Bluetooth. I did a structured workout yesterday in ERG mode and when I should have been at 145 watts, I’d drop to 60 and 70. My legs are so sore today because I pushed through it. So hopefully I’ll have some gains but now Zwift tells me they can see a number of BlE drops.
So I have to go back to the drawing board. All I want is to get all of the camera angles by using my companion app.
The reason my computer running Zwift is hardwired hdmi to my tv is because I’m trying to minimize interference- which has been a problem.
I have an older Kickr. Is it true that you can hardwire the new one directly to your computer?
I’d like to run this system as stable as possible - and I see the best way ti do that is with hard wiring wherever possible.
Between the Tickr HR monitor and cadence meter and kickr, it seems to be all the bandwidth available.
No more old iPad with Bluetooth speaker, either, as awesome as that was.
I would try an ANT+ dongle with an extension USB cable first before investing in the new Kickr V5 with the added DirCon accessory. Have you tried ANT+ yet?
Right, I’m not buying the new kickr yet. Just wondering why a wired connection didn’t come first.
I did go the dongle ant + first. But I don’t have a dedicated computer and I lost the dongle. So I may just have to try that route again. Returning the keyboard now. Let’s see how it goes with no keyboard and no Bluetooth speaker.
If I’m running the companion app on my phone - that’s on the same wifi as the MacBook running Zwift - so that works over wifi not Bluetooth presumably, so I can turn off my phone’s Bluetooth, right ?
I’ve got a whole 10 minute routine and checklist before riding. This must be how pilots do it.
