First workout on my Zwift ride - in ERG mode.
I’m trying to reach listed watts seems to require me to pedal faster than I’m comfortable.
Based on what I read, resistance should be adjusting for me, but I’m not experiencing that. Does it just take time for ERG mode to “react” to my cadence?
What is the trainer you’re using, and can you confirm the trainer paired as ‘controllable’ in the menu at the start?
ERG mode should enable you to push the desired power at a very wide range of cadences, it only kicks out when you go below some very low grind cadence.
Thanks. Zwift Ride w/ Kickr Core trainer and it does indicate controllable.
As I continue reading posts, seems like I need to be more patient to let it react to my cadence.
Well, it shouldn’t take too long. I use a Kickr Core and it adjusts to the new target within a few seconds.
Hoping it’s just that I tried to up my cadence to hit the wattage and didn’t give it a chance. Very new to this and not quite sure how the app, trainer, zwift play interact. Sounds like this is specifically the app / trainer interaction, so if Kickr Core is connected as controllable it should adjust.
Yeah, just sit there at the exact cadence you want and wait a few seconds, if you keep increasing your cadence the kickr will keep giving you less resistance since you need less resistance at higher cadences. So if you just maintain the consistent cadence you want you “should” see the power ramp up in a few seconds to where the workout target is.
Thanks so much for helping a newbie. Have a great day.
