What qualifies someone to get the “manipulation” DQ?
That is something the race organizer would do, you’ll need to ask them.
In this case, it was for a rider setting their FTP so ridiculously and falsely high (700W) that their avatar wouldn’t ever react to sprints (e.g. getting out of the saddle). It was a 5v5 club ladder race and was deemed to be unfair because it allowed for stealth attacks. Reacting quickly to team attacks is crucial in such a small field and visual cues are used - which is why I don’t wear the fire socks in ladder races! I think another rider got DQ’d in the same race for using an unnatural pedalling technique.
