This 10th generation TCR builds on innovations of the bikes that came before it, achieving greater efficiency, improved aerodynamics, and more seamless integration to elevate the road riding experience. Much has changed in road bikes, but through it all the TCR has remained at the forefront of innovation. It’s a bike that has kept its focus on one core mission: to give riders a competitive edge.
Aethos isn’t deprecated. I’ll be publishing performance test results for these this week. So far they look to be solid performers, but not new top performers. But I’ll publish details ASAP.
Interesting that a climbing bike performance is better compatibly on the flats then the mountains.
The Aethos could do with having some competition, either some new light weight bikes to go against it or a classic like the Canyon Ultimate CF Evo 10.0.
This is similar to someone asking why Tadej keeps taking the V5RS over the Y1RS.
There’s something to be said about responsiveness along with comfort, which is predictably, what the TCR in the recent generations is about; specifically the SL.
Especially that it has kept up year to year refinements wise on aero.
IRL, this is a high depth color which is only becoming more common in the industry with increasingly deeper colors and finer pearls and metallics than ever before.
Outdoors this bike in black lava never appears the same, and is really let down in-game by a large margin.
Believe it or not, below are pictures of the same color bike; good luck matching this in Zwift (all the more reason for PBR materials, which is industry wide even on mobile devices today):
I would check your monitor then Chris , Zwift is most certainly not desaturated; gamma maybe a touch high these days, but I wouldn’t call it desaturated!
Flight sims definitely known to be over the top with colors though for sure. Tree heights always ridiculous too, tree heights in XPlane and MSFS are taller than the redwood forest!
Regardless, it’s a super cool color that’s a big let down in-game!
