Just ride mate, don’t worry about the Bots WKG, just find the one(s) that suit you at that moment in time
That’s basically what I’m doing And changing my weight to get the variation I like.
No part of that response is meant to defend or offend anyone; it’s just pointing out evidence people are seeking when they wonder why riding with a group one day can be so different from another. (Except in my proof case, it so happened to be a single ride making it even more clear)
I don’t care either way how you “play the game”, but what does offend me and hopefully the entire platform is people who cheat by entering races with their fake weights; but that’s not what this topic is about.
It’s about group riding. And some don’t believe that pack dynamics can be altered by other riders, which is incorrect.
And also why you see many B races with faster finishing times than A races.
This is all I’m pointing out.
Sorry if you read it in a negative tone; these are just statements of facts; not opinions, for others to see and understand.
There are plenty of posts from folks on this forum asking why one day they aren’t able to keep up with their favorite RP one day, and thinking something is broken somewhere, and think it’s some sort of game bug or what have you.
I don‘t understand why it is not possible to have RP in all worlds, tiered from 1w/kg up to 5 w/kg at 0,3w per level. The current limitations are not a good user experience.
I would suggest to have a RP group ride on every route I like at every W/kg I want at every time with a selectable amount of NPCs or real zwifters.
For one thing, it would split the users up so much that you’d often be riding alone. I think there is also a “resource/processing” limitation at the server level. I guess that one option would be to make our holo-partners draftable?
Except of course the fact that changing your weight in Zwift is exactly equal to loosing weight and then changing your weight in Zwift . It has no impact on how your game feels. But, honestly, let’s not bring up that discusion again; everyone else knows this is pretty obvious…
There is no processing/ressource limitation on server level for this, that’s for sure. The other point is 100% valid though, and I think that is the main reason.
We’ve been told before that the main reason for not having a lot more RPs is UI limitations for selecting them.
It would be fine if I could define my RP Group like a workout.
I don’t chat a lot while riding, but the Group Pack Dynamics are more fun than riding alone. Zwift has trillions of riding information at their databases. It should not be a problem to load data from ~100 NPCs from past rides on my level for each desired route to generate a virtual group.
On homescreen it would be nice to have a Random Route RP Group based on my level. That would not blow up the UI I guess?
I don’t think this is correct. Each robo pacer runs a separate instance of the game that they have to operate and manage. The latter is probably more significant.
I would also like to see 2.0 W/Kg. I use robopacers for Z2 rides. With increasing fitness I feel I can now do better than 1.8 W/Kg, but a 22% power jump to 2.2 W/kg puts me in the Z3 range and reduces the duration I can maintain. I could mess with slow bikes, TT bikes or even artificially increase my weight, but a 2.0 W/kg pacer would be nicer … please !!!
I enjoy doing Z2 rides in a group as opposed to a solitary workout. Power doesn’t have to be precise, but it helps me maintain an appropriate average without having to concentrate too much on longer rides. Zwift Zone 2 runs from 60% to 75% of FTP so a 22% jump between pacer levels is quite big. Agreed that there are alternatives, but a 2.0 W/kg robopacer option would be very nice. In the mean time I might try an MTB or gravel bike to see if that gets me in the right range.
Your request is completely reasonable but if you’re looking for zone 2 training you might want to decide based on zone 2 heart rate rather than power.
I agree with you, for instance one of the Miguels could be at 1.8w/kg the other at 2.0.
I’d like to see the robopacers and routes rotated more frequently (every 2 or 3 days) and with 0.1 W/Kg changes, so the 1.8 bot becomes 1.9 on the changeover.
Ranges can vary between:
1.1 - 1.3
1.5 - 1.7
1.8 - 2.0
2.2 - 2.4
and so on.
Zwift should introduce a “Trainer” bike.
This would be a bike that has a user set road resistance.
Set it up similar to the difficulty bias on work outs.
Then people would not have to fudge their wt for social rides etc.
When riding with a bot, it would be easy to adjust difficulty and organizers can exclude it from events similar to no TT bikes in races.
Or an e-bike with different levels of assistance. When you’re on the e-bike it’s easy to see it’s an e-bike due to the battery, KOM jerseys are turned off, you get different strava segments that are specific to the e-bikes, certain achivements are turned off (100km/h one etc), maybe you get less XP per km depending on the amount of assist (and fewer drops per m climbed) to avoid abuse of the feature, and you can’t join races, but you can join group rides with a certain e-bike bias. Any group ride can be set-up to exclude e-bikes.
