So I treated myself to a new iPad - whoop, main reason was for a bigger screen for Zwift !!
Fired it up and it looks no better than my very old iPad just bigger, So I know the iPad was only released last week .. but from what I can workout I’m getting the Basic Profile as Zwift doesn’t cater for the M5 I’d assumed I would get the same as the M4 if not better but nope.
Anyone else got the M5 iPad and the same issue ?
Please Zwift can this be looked into ASAP feels like a quick fix ?
I just upgraded from my M4 iPad Pro to an M5 and I’m having the same issue. I’m guessing they just need to send out an app update to fix. I reached out to support earlier so they’re aware of this too.
Yes i did too but was also encouraged to raise it on here - if more people vote for the “enhancement” then it might get added quicker!!
I would have thought in a competitive market it was in Zwift ‘s interest to have their software show cased to best of a machines ability … bit Disappointing TBH
I’m planning to buy an iPad Pro M5 to replace my iPad Pro (1st gen), and I really hope that by then this bug will have been fixed — or even better that the ULTRA profile will be available on this latest generation.
If the M5 gets treated like the M4 in a future update, you should expect some improvements in graphics quality but it’s not completely like the Ultra profile on a PC or M4 Mac Mini or any of the higher quality M series CPUs prior to the M4 (eg, M1 Pro). But my general advice is do not buy any hardware with an expecation of it getting better graphics on any specific timeline because sometimes it takes a very long time and they haven’t said anything about it. If you can accept using it with the most basic graphics quality, go ahead. If that would be a problem, don’t buy it.
Thank you for flagging this up. I’ve shared this with our engineers at HQ- iOS devices with M5 or A19 processors should have the expected graphics experience in a coming Zwift update.
