This. I want to hear only nature/world sounds with none of the “pinging” stuff but include the critical alerts. The countdown to start, the sound of the road, and the sound of the birds. The current two-slider system is very limiting.
Also something I noticed with ZwiftApp 1.94 is that… the environmental effects (like moon/sun/shadow movement) on my Ultra graphics profile (Windows) updates around every second. So it goes… Moon (1s) Moon moves (1s) Moon moves (1s) Moon moves (1s)… (Replace this Moon with Clouds, Shadows, etc…) When I first saw it, I thought “what’s up with that”, and now I’ve been laughing at it for almost two weeks. My main system hasn’t updated to 1.95 yet. My work computer has.
Who wants to guess how many hits on my log I got for “started riding in Watopia” during a Vo2 workout I got tonight… you know, a time in which you don’t want to be hearing ding noises constantly.
Anyone?
Bueller?
270 hits.
270 hits in 60 minutes.
I got 46 Ride ons during said workout as well.
That’s almost 320 DING!!! noises over 60 minutes. You know how obnoxious that is???
It’s as annoying as this commentary reads, or so I hope.
Let us turn that off!
If I want it at all, let me set it to favorites.
That is all.
Otherwise, I’d still, rather not have it at all period.
I’m shocked nobody is hyped about the updates for M series iPads! I’ve since switched back to my Windows laptop since I can run everything Ultra, but may consider going back to an iPad now in the future! iPad has always been my preference for ease of use, but always lame how Zwift looked on such powerful hardware.. Would be interested in seeing video of what the improved graphics look like.
Thanks Zwift devs for finally working on this, better late than never!
Yikes. The problem is… Zwift makes too many “ting noises”.
The whole Zwift UI is already extremely busy to begin with, and it keeps getting worse. I would love to see the “research” Zwift did to see that users want such annoyances added to their rides. If someone is on Zwift as a connection, and you want to ride with them, it is easy enough to see whether they show up as a nearby rider or that you can teleport to them. Some events I join, I might have 40 connections already. I already get far too many “Person gave you a Ride On” notifications. I couldn’t care less. Everything in the top bar is complete noise to me, and thankfully with the audio off, I don’t have to hear it.
What’s worse, is when I have Zwift connections who feel obliged to pander their causes which leaves them with a Zwift name of what seems like ten thousand characters, that hyperscrolls left and right. I couldn’t actually read it if I tried.
Moreover, the numeric font characters aren’t fixed width in Zwift, so each time a number changes in a horizontal line, the text bounces left and right unnecessarily, which not only takes more graphics resources than necessary, but it’s a total UI eyesore. Why 0-9 can’t take equal spacing is beyond me. What do I know? I’m just a dumb engineer.
Sometimes, I get so annoyed looking at the stuff on the Zwift UI that I end up hitting the H key, just to find myself inundated with “Press H to show the display” each time I try to take a clean screenshot, which requires me to then go into my screenshots directory on my PC to find the “clean” version without that annoying banner.
Surely you want to know about the physio business that the rider owns, or their coaching studio or they are powered by whoever? Or the “I stand with” insert country name.
I suppose the latter is inevitable.
I also hate the Press H to show the display. Wish it could be gone.
Also - wanted to thank you all on the feedback about the Friends Zwifting message. We’ll continue to refine the message behavior over the next release(s).
Let’s look at this from the perspective of people who want to express something but are given no better way to do it other than stuffing everything into their name. This is a message to developers that there is demand for that kind of expression, and the solution needs to balance what those people want and what everyone else experiences.
