I still don’t know what to do next, I’m literally waiting for new of the issue and an update from somewhere to solve it but a laptop that doesn’t have an AMD graphics card….
In the meantime you could downgrade to a previous version which doesn’t have the bug. I posted a script to do that but it was reported and deleted from the forum. Google for “update_zwift.py”.
I’m not technically minded and don’t know how to do that, and I shouldn’t have to do that.
I’d be content if someone from Zwift acknowledged the issue, said it was being worked on and a new update with the fix was due with an appropriate time scale. I don’t that that is an unreasonable expectation.
I’d happily accept that if it’s crash free!
Is ZHQ looking into whatever mess occurred with steering this update?
Group rides are acting really super wonky right now.
I didn’t even have turning enabled (nor did others on the other side of the road), and my avatar was riding the double yellow line for some time when I took this image to show my my leader what on earth issues we were having.
It seems like this latest update broke the custom workout file sync functionality. I was last able to create a custom workout on my desktop (Mac OS) and it shared as normally across my devices (Macbook, Apple TV, iPhone) on December 8th. I then created another workout on the same computer yesterday (15th), and now it’s not syncing anymore, to any device. I tried creating a workout on my Macbook, and it will not sync either. These are small .zwo files, all less than 1kb. I believe my apps updated on Dec. 13th. Could you please look into this? It’s a very important piece of functionality to me…
Hi Andrew!
I had been having lots of troubles with steering and whilst on a grouprid on two days in a row, not only the steering went funny, also the whole game froze and I had to abandon the ride.
Got an instruction from ZHQ how to calebrate the Zwift steering controllers
Found on my Mac notebook an outstanding update.
Since than it got each day a little bit better.
Today whilst on MAAP ride 3, lost connection 4 times and steering was funny as well.
Reconnected the trainer several times and calebrated the controllers once again, and than it was fine for the rest of the ride.
Keep my fingers crossed, that it stays that way
Cheers Rob
Yes, a lot worse and more of them
Okay I found something worse.
@shooj , Disabling steering in group rides which are also set to Watopia currently does not … disable steering.
This is really causing havoc with people getting dropped on our rides.
I am unsure if this is specific to what clubs / groups / etc is getting forced onto PD5, or if it is indeed ALL of Watopia. But, I had two group rides tonight with steering disabled in the club settings, but it was still functional. (both in Watopia)
Can someone at Zwift please checkmark the box at the Glasgow Reverse route so I can actually make an event on this event only route ?
At this moment that is not possible in clubs.
Hi @Stephen_Watts_Evo_Re, we are actively looking into issues reported from Zwifters using laptops with integrated AMD GPUs as a high priority. We’ll post back more in the following post as we have updates: Freezing/Crashing on AMD integrated GPUs [November 2024]
Thank you.
I appreciate it’s not likely to be a simple fix, but general updates about the issue are most welcome.
