Game Update v 1.74 [September 2024]

Hello Zwifters!

Game version 1.74 begins phased rollout to Windows / macOS / Android devices today.
Phased rollout to iOS / tvOS begins tomorrow.

  • New Zwifters have more of Watopia to explore! The level-locked gate has been lifted from the following routes: Mayan 8, Elevation Evaluation, Radio Rendezvous, Snowman, Power to the Tower.
  • Various icons have been refreshed throughout the game to improve consistency.
  • Improved the appearance of tabs in the Settings menu for non-English languages.
  • Improved HUD metric responsiveness for trainers that support 10 Hz updates.
  • The HUD power distribution bar now respects the Power Display setting (Instantaneous or 3-second average).
  • Dirt roads now have a fresh new look as part of our ongoing visual improvements to roadways in Zwift. Note: There is no change to the performance characteristics of roadways as part of this change.
  • Fixed road flickering on the Glasgow Crit Circuit route in Scotland.
  • Fixed an issue in Climb Portal that could cause PR information to be difficult to read for Zwifters with long names.
  • Fixed an issue in the post-ride Streaks screen that could display lower XP than expected after earning a ride streak bonus and clicking the Continue button. Note: This was a visual issue; the proper amount of XP was still granted.
  • Fixed an issue that could potentially cause Zwifters to go off-route on the Loop de Loop route in Watopia.
  • Fixed an issue in the Garage where the color customization slider was available for some non-customizable frames.
  • Fixed an issue where the Zwifter level shown in the HUD could disappear after receiving a Ride On.
  • When viewing another Zwifter, calories are no longer shown in the HUD.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause power and cadence fields to appear in the HUD when viewing a Zwift runner.

Yeah I know. I was commenting because @shooj said “iPhone and iPad users please note”, not “iPhone, iPad and Apple TV users please note” …

clearly they are elitist at ZHQ, you peons and your Apple TV’s need to learn your place!

Does this include the new icon representing distance in the center HUD that looks like a %?

@calfzilla
Not HUD. These are primarily the icons in the pairing screen. Here’s an example

The distance numbers overrun the km/h icon sometimes. Might be a good opportunity to fix the broken kerning.

Thanks, this will be improved in an upcoming release.

Big thumbs up for finally correcting „kmh“ to „km/h“. :+1:

Are there any plans to improve the climbpro hud feature appearance?

Is there a way to turn off the hill detail that drops into the middle of the horizon? Why not just add to the map too the right?

no, not currently

In the HUD, the watts/kg appears to include “feather power-up” additional watts. Is it meant to have the additional 10% added?

My kid had a terrible time installing the update. Yesterday I think. He worked on it for roughly eight hours. I don’t care if the dmn thing updates. I just ignore it. As long as I can ride. It seems like it has loaded all the other updates. I’m not doing anything wrong. If you are not doing anything, how can you be doing something wrong? My kid has it now. This stuff is supposed to be easy for your kid!
My glitch is, I get my trainer and my HRM connected and the game spits the connection away. I have to keep cycling back and reconnecting. It often takes as much as ten minutes. Meanwhile, rouvy and mywhoosh just connect. No issues. So not my devices or the tv. The issue is with Zwift and the device connection. I told my kid about it and he just laughed. He is fun to ride a meetup with, I am still a D and sailing around tagged with him (B), is cool.
