Is there a way to do an FTP test as a meetup, or do I have to just tell everyone the plan?
Yes you can create a meetup on any route then enable keep together. When people wait for the meetup to start they can select the FTP test workout and do the workout in the meetup.

Good luck with the FTP test, it is a hard workout but better with friends.
