Frodeno vs. Sanders: Zwift Tri Battle Royale [July 18 2021]

The Zwift Tri Battle Royale takes place on Sunday, July 18th in Allgäu, Germany. The race starts at 09:00 am local time and the distances will be 3.8km (2.5 miles) SWIM / 180km (112 miles) BIKE / 42.2km (26.2 miles) RUN.

The race will be a head to head battle between our two most popular Zwifters - Jan Frodeno and Lionel Sanders. As well as racing each other they will both be keeping an eye on the clock hoping to lower Jan’s current World Record of 7hrs 35mins 39 secs.

The race will be broadcast as a full length livestream hosted on Zwift
More information on the race itself can be found at tri-battle.com

Alongside the in-real-life race in Germany, the global Zwift community will have the opportunity to ride and run virtually alongside Jan and Lionel throughout the event.

A unique format for Zwift, the athletes will be broadcasting their data from the live event and their avatars will simulate those numbers in-game, riding and running at the same pace as the athletes in Germany.

To take part:

  1. Follow both Jan and Lionel on Zwift Companion
  2. Log in to your account.
  3. Choose Watopia and look for the option to ‘Ride with Jan Frodeno’ or ‘Ride with Lionel Sanders’.

They will be riding and running on the Tick Tock route. Be warned though, they will be moving at pace so get ready for a hard effort to stay on their wheel or by their side on the run.

They will be on their bikes and riding (in Zwift) from around 09.55am CEST, following the swim.
Expect them to hit the run course at approximately 2.15pm CEST.
