I just did a 3+hour ride with a Surface3Pro Tablet I have had for 10 years. I used 576P resolution and the framerate was looooow. Every 20 to 30 minutes the screen froze but after about 5-10 sec. it recovered. That tablet hardly meets the minimum Zwift requirements but it managed to hold on and let me execute the ride.
So why does it work with a 10year old tablet not meeting the minimum hardware requiremets but a much stronger PC nearly meeting the optimum requirements manages 60+FPS and has withstood a torture test crashes everytime after 2-2,5hours? Someone is not doing their homework …
Same problems here. Super annoying! Tried updating AMD Drivers and using the Windows default driver. Crashes anyhow.
Laptop is way above minimum spec, but has an AMD Ryzen and AMD Onboard graphics.
Same machine ran great last fall and winter, but now I am restricted to very short sessions Thing is, I bought this machine espcifcally for ZWIFT. My outdated windows tablet did not crash but had horrible graphics and FPS.
What a bummer.
Yes whatever driver and Windows default, no solution. Only the AMD driver has a error report tool I now regularly use to report zwift everytime it crashes.
I have a miniPC with 16GB of memory. It has a Ryzen with onboard Graphics (Ryzen 4350GE with Radeon Onboard) easily meets minimum requirement. Is as smooth as butter under 1080P (60+FPS) and even offers 4K resolution in Zwift. but it freezes after 2+Hours.
Maybe my huge memory allows for longer rides, because Zwift sometimes inflates to 6+GB of usage. I might be SEEING THINGS but if I play around with the Zwift Window, resize it and dock it here and there reduce it and move it around, now and then, it manages to run longer?? Guess that is pure coincidence.
I was just shocked that a 10year old Surfacetablet (not meeting minimum requirements) with low framerate managed to hold up 3+ hours eventhough the screen froze now and then…
It seems reducing the resolution helps a bit. The app is just taking more an more ram as time passes, I am “testing” in spectator mode, an after 1:05h ist has taken 97% of the available RAM in 576p.
I consider upgrading the RAM to 16 GB, should be posible on my model.
Still considering it “overkill”, but what are you gonna da.
Basically a great remedy for ALL crashes would be an autosave option that will allow to continue rides after a restart within a reasonable grace period, but that suggestion has yet not been picked up:

I have the same issue. My new laptop, which I bought specifically for Zwift, freezes after about an hour. And yes, it’s an AMD-based machine. It shouldn’t be the case that even when exceeding the setup requirements, the program cannot run properly! Zwift needs to address this issue and fix it ASAP.
Yes seems Ryzen Laptop/PCs are having trouble.
Intel not so even if it is a below minimum rquirement janky rubbish thing.
Zwift please look into your SW and get things done the same for AMD as you did with intel.
Seems something has changed. I haven´t changed anything since Saturday but this week it managed two 3+hour rides. Yesterday I returned to the fully blown “setup”, I let everything run again on the PC: Discord, Onedrive, Mediamonkey, watching Netflix/Prime/Youtube. Zwift just used between 1 and 2 GB of memory over the complete rides. It peaked at the usual spawn points of the “game”…
Maybe they have changed something on the server side of things?
It would be great if anyone still subscribed could confirm whether the issue was resolved after the update, even though it’s not mentioned in the notes.
Same problem here since a few weeks. I am also using AMD/Ryzen processors. Hope they will fix the issue. Otherwise i will cancel this account and change to Rouvy. Never had troubles with Zwift, but at the moment it is useless for me. Paying for nothing…
We have noticed an uptick in reports of Zwift freezing (and sometimes eventually crashing) on certain PCs with AMD integrated GPUs. We are currently investigating this further. Many of these reports are coming from devices that are below the minimum requirements to run Zwift. Also, for some affected Zwifters, updating your GPU to the latest driver version can resolve this issue.
Please feel free to contact Zwift Community Support if you continue to experience freezes after confirming your device is up to date and meets minimum requirements.
I have been in this situation for every ride for my last 6 rides since the 23rd November.
I do 95% of my ride, following a route, and just as I get towards the finish the screen freezes and that’s that.
It has happened on two different watopia routes after no issues for the rest of the ride.
I have tried uninstalling the app completely and reinstalling and updating
I read on one forum that the use of OBS running in the background would help, but this didn’t work.
I have updated all the graphics drivers for my laptop and this still keeps happening.
I am running the app on windows 11 on a lenovo ideapad which has worked flawlessly in the past
|Processor|AMD Ryzen 7 5825U with Radeon Graphics 2.00 GHz|
|Installed RAM|8.00 GB (5.85 GB usable)|
|System type|64-bit operating system, x64-based processor|
I have tried to contact the support team, but I just get bounced around chats. I have downloaded the crash report, but can’t get the email to send them to.
Can anyone help?
There are loads of reports of crashes on Ryzen systems with integrated Radeon graphics lately. Search the forum for Ryzen and Radeon and you’ll find them.
Thank you. Having had a quick look I can’t see any solutions found. I might try and roll back my drivers, but I was wondering if you have come across a sollution anywhere?
I think they need to release a game update to fix it. Some people have found improvement by installing the latest Radeon driver from the AMD website but it doesn’t help everyone. Since at least part of the problem appears to be a memory leak (high memory usage at the time of the crash) more memory may delay the crash. Zwift have been silent about their progress on this, but we know they are aware because some users have received support responses that say it sits with engineering now.
Hello all,
I’ve been using Zwift now for 3 years and never really had any problems, until two weeks ago.
During my last 3 rides Zwift completely froze when i was 25 to 50 minutes in. I’m using my laptop for Zwift with AMD Radeon.
Anybody who’s got an idea how to fix this?
Sure there are lots of reports of this on the forum lately. Many people get relief by installing the latest Radeon driver downloaded from AMD. Let me know if that helps.
So I just rode on Zwift, this time it froze after an hour (which is 20 minutes longer than previously) but it looks like the problem still isn’t solved.
I’ve also changed the quality from 4k to 1440.
