I checked, I have it now.
For those using mobile OS platforms like Kirk - if the Apple App Store app or the Google Play app doesn’t recognize there’s an available update, you may need to purge the cache for those specific apps.
No issues seeing routes on MyList here; once I saw them I was also able to set two group rides tonight on the new routes as well.
Fun stuff, glad to see them, and love the atmosphere in the central section!
Only issue so far is the map on companion does not seem to have been updated like the one in-game has been.
Only “world / graphical” error I saw was the bridge section before it would turn off to head towards the sunflower fields and then pave / aqueduc (from the climb portal), there’s a bird that swoops down towards a rock, which… doesn’t land, but it stops mid-air, but acts like it’s landed about 4ft above the rock I’m assuming it’s supposed to land on.
A minor issue, but, needs a fixin. Located here:
Last note, whoever on this earth decided to slap a 750m sprint on cobbles deserves… all of the nightmares involving hay-animals
Crazy short. How to make an event from that route, it’s not a loop either. That’s my swim workout length
Hell of a Route Chaser”, featuring five of the new France routes
Is there any detail of which 5 count towards the challenge?
The challenge is already available on the home screen, which shows these routes:
Croissant
Hell of the North
Gentil 8
Bon Voyage
Three Musketeers
“Challenge” … took me 3.5h of z2 to complete. I seriously wish the France classic fondo route got a badge (and that a new granfondo was made with a finish up Ventoux…)
I am extremely disappointed with the mediocre expansion of the world France!!!
It’s a way for folks to explore the new routes while earning bonus XP. Might not be a difficult challenge for some but i appreciate these smaller challenges in addition to the first 3 and now the 4th power one.
What are you disappointed by and what would you have liked differently. Just saying you don’t like something doesn’t help provide feedback which can be actioned.
For instance, I wish this expansion would have gone up the back side of VenTop with a handful of varied climbs. Perhaps a flat section part of the way up which could be used for crits and then a second set of climbs to the top.
You’re right Chris, I expressed myself poorly. Usually with each new extension the surprise is appreciable, here I find that they added two additional loops that are too short and not even a bit of a hill. Indeed a second route to climb Ventoux like via Sault. The cobblestones are too few and do not add much.
Can someone explain why clicking on the challenge card is required to “register” before doing rides? There’s nothing visually to suggest that should be necessary and nowhere in the game does it say you need to register before you start getting route credit.
Please don’t say “read the FAQ that you have to find a link to in the forum.”
I clicked on the challenge card just to see what routes were included in the challenge, since they announced more routes than the challenge has. I had no idea that would “register” for the challenge.
I did that after doing a ride on one of the new routes that I had added to my list when I didn’t get the route chaser notification finishing the route. When I went back out of it it said registered.
Bad UX
Adding a whole new climb could have been a lot of work but adding additional routes to Ventoux… right now there still is only 1 route (ven-top) to the top of Ventoux
It is a way to put Paris Roubaix on the map, if even just a little section or two.
This shows more expansion is in the plan. A few rolling hills would add a lot of dynamics to France.
A night time cycle would be cool too, the new sections could have some great visuals at night
Like cars with yellow headlights
Needs more mud!
I love the new roads. Thank you.
