I don’t see it on the public calendar
Probably not worth replying as you’ve gone. But that’s a great shame. I think zwift just keeps getting better and better. All the best dude
“How can I add my club’s events to the Zwift calendar, similar to how other clubs feature their events?”
Shame you are going. (Sorry folks, I don’t do snarky comments in these situations)
Racing isn’t the be all of everything, you can smash yourself on Alpe du Zwift and Ventop (Ventoux).
Otherwise you would have been welcome to join me on ADZ each weekday (and occasionally Saturday/Sunday) at approximately 5pm - usual lap time around 47 to 50 minutes at tempo effort.
But you are probably faster than me.
You can’t unless your events are big enough and popular enough for Zwift to take notice.
Many running events on Zwift have fewer than 5 participants.
It would be fantastic if users like me could organize club events, which could then be featured on the Zwift calendar.
This could potentially benefit Zwift in several ways.
Despite being only a fraction of the size of its cycling community, increasing the number of user-created running events could both enhance Zwift’s platform.
Completely agree with it being self fulfilling.
Short races are totally popular because that’s basically all they have.
As they say; variety is the spice of life. Why can’t Zwift provide this?
Leave the snark to the fools.
Agree racing its the whole package, but it remains Zwift’s significant point of difference with a. group of competitors that arguably do some of the other stuff (training/climbs ect) better.
I do love the occasional Alpe D Z pain session, but what used to (for me at least) make Zwift so special was those solid 40km/1hr races with people in the community where you really got a solid 1hr workout and felt that connection to other racers.
Thanks again Chris. If the other platforms don’t fill the void I’ll see you on ADZ.
It’s not a hemisphere issue. It’s a timezone issue.
Sydney is on par with Japan and easter china + SE Asia. Im not going to add it up, but that’s surely a LOT of people who want a reliable and varied amount of events to start/end their day.
If a club event occurs regularly, such as once a week for multiple weeks, there should be a feature to add it to the public calendar.
There are numerous open club events that remain unlisted on the application.
It would be highly beneficial to have a checkbox in the application to display all available club events on Zwift.
The reason why club events don’t make it into the global calendar is that anybody can create a club and then a subsequent event.
There’d be no safety mechanism for Zwift to ensure its reputation isn’t damaged if the club/event had a political/racial/gender motive for example?
Allowing access directly to the global calendar is not s good idea.
Once a club is established with a good reputation then the goalposts could be moved.
The current system where you submit your event via Zwift works very well thanks to the team behind it that process these quickly.
debateable haha.
Have a button - that includes club events
One of the primary concerns within the Zwift community is the limited availability of running events exceeding 10 kilometers, and it would be wonderful to uncover and showcase events organized by Zwift clubs that might currently be hidden.
I would say that 99% of club events are open for anybody to join.
I’m a member of several running clubs including all of the main ones and they don’t put closed events on.
I’ve not come across such such concerns over the availability of longer than 10k events.
There’s far more interest in an increase in levels, auto incline and better options for workouts.
I’m suggesting that these club events should be displayed on a public calendar, perhaps even having their own separate public calendar within the application.
There should be a clear guide for users on how to have their events featured on this public calendar.
This guide might include information on the frequency of events, minimum participant requirements, and the criteria for being included on this list.
As I’ve said allowing club events direct access to the public calendar is fraught with danger.
There’d be no way to filter out events that do not meet Zwifts guidelines.
And in terms of putting on pubic events the form is self explanatory and the staff are amazingly helpful with these and often respond to requests in minutes.
I can’t respond to your concerns with the race schedule. However, I have solved my disconnect problems by moving my fan so it is blocked by a steel book case. Also you try a different fan or explore any other source of RF interference. Give it a try and see if this is the problem.
Where can I find Zwift’s guidelines for getting an event listed on the calendar?
How can someone submit a club event to Zwift, and what’s the step-by-step process for doing so?
Contact Zwift support. They may have documented guidelines.
They can provide you with the form to create a global event.
Club events are created by yourself within your club.
Lol! Reading that I just busted out laughing. Lost my coffee!!! Just gotta love that level of sarcastic humor! Thanks!!!
