That looks AWESOME!
If such a jersey is ever done, then it should only be available via special unlock.
The rider must show they have an officially verified vEverest and only then they get the jersey.
So people doing dodgy things or “in the name of science” won’t get the jersey.
The badge is just based on elevation in one ride on Zwift.
Never mind the badge, but to get a jersey for it (if one was ever created), that should be properly verified so that folks trying to get a jersey must have ridden it properly, according to the rules:
Even better if it was verified by those folks.
It’s just a game, earning the badge should be enough, it is for the century kit too. That said it would be nice if an everesting hall of fame entry would come with a kit unlock.
Nice but perhaps change everesting to (v)Everester, 8848 or 29029 (as the badge says)
I took a nap in the middle which is against the outdoor rules. But Zwift is a bit of the Wild West.
It is simple right now. There’s no need to complicate it. It isn’t real anything. Virtual climb, virtual jersey, simple.
Nothing against it in the virtual rules:
- You can break for as long as you need, keep in mind this counts towards the total elapsed time. Your final time for the challenge is taken as the total elapsed time of the attempt, not the total moving time.
But just needs to be verified to stop bots and exploits like the guy above. Some things must be above those.
I’d like to see a Basecamp badge and jersey. Mainly because I haven’t done a vEverest, but I do have a verified Basecamp ride. =)
I did the Zwift Everesting last year so I absolutely vote for this as that would be a super rare jersey but highly unlikely Zwift would do it, let alone retrospectively reward it
Adding another voice to the desire for a Zwift Everesting jersey! I did mine in 2020 and if a jersey had been available I’d be wearing it for over five years, now. It’s my practice to wear a jersey which represents the hardest thing I’ve done in Zwift, but since no Everesting jersey exists I’ve had to wear the “second-hardest thing” instead.
Norseman Jersey is a hard Jersey to earn.I have a couple of sweet jerseys. I have over 200 easily.
What do you consider second hardest? 100 mile is fairly common, with 100 km also.
@Zee_Kryder Norseman (the black jersey - the harder one to earn) is my second-hardest, so it’s the one I wear since there’s no Everesting jersey. It’s pretty unusual to see another rider wearing it, so I’m always excited when I do!
I think maybe our best option is to contact everesting.com and see if they are willing/able to create a virtual jersey on zwift which is unlockable for customers of the official everesting jersey.
Maybe @Fat_Pineapple could talk to the owners of everesting.com since he was already in contact with them for organising ve-day
This is a good way, then it remains just for those who’ve really done the effort for real.
The Haute Route jerseys are also coveted by a lot of people as well. But we kind of need a lot of real life HC climbs all scattered around ADZ in Watopia to get a proper Haute Route experience. Just putting stages with massive distance isn’t really what the real ones are about, they are about big elevation with often minimal flat riding.
Hi there we discussed a VE jersey and presented it to Zwift for Virtual Everesting Day but there was enough time to get everything done. I’m chatting with Everesting soon about Trainer difficulty and a Virtual 25% / 50% world championships on zwift. I’ll add this to the list
no sleep allowed on a single 2 hours allowed if attempting a double. More for each full so if going for 3 you can take 2 x 2 hours sleeps after each for or bank it and take 1 x 4 hour nap after the 2nd
Well, they could make jerseys based on both the distance and elevation of an event. For instance, a Marmotte Jersey (or achievement) would require you doing 5000m of elevation in Zwift in one ride along with at least the distance of the Marmotte, which would probably best be done via doing laps of big climbs to begin with. They could have a Mallorca 312 jersey (or achievement) for doing 312km in Zwift along with the 4.6k climbing needed in the route etc. If they combine a minimum distance and elevation then there would be no reasonable way to get these on flat routes only.
They could have a jersey (or achievement) for the classics (Parix-Roubaix, Milan-SanRemo, Tour of Flanders, Ill Lombardia, LbL etc), and require both elevation and distance as well etc. Actually a single classics jersey which had a patch for each classic you’ve done would be fun. So the first classic you do you get a jersey with the logo for that classic, then you get a new logo added for additional classics you’ve completed etc.
Maybe an “Epic Rides” jersey which has a logo added for each epic ride challenge you’ve done? So you don’t have to choose between jerseys once you have a ton of them ![]()
I just copied that dot point from the official site, so I assumed it was correct.
Everesting is a huge undertaking, even on Zwift. Any other ride is not as hard. It has become a sensational challenge for any avid climber or even those who are not impressed with simply pedaling long distances (sure 300 km is not simple. But it isn’t a “thing” really.)
A simple retroactive accomplishment, those who have the Zwift badge should get one.
I’m sure that a number of people have attempted one and failed. If I had failed, I don’t know if I would have tried again. I did it because I can see in a few years, that it will probably be impossible for me. The last one was so hard, I didn’t want to stop at the bottom. I opted to ride the top half twice to make it seem visually less climbing. Those first two sections can feel merciless, especially on very tired legs.
