Thank you for explaining the technical principles, it sounds to me like this could be really good.
The obvious will be to go with an Elite trainer, which most people probably will. But being a sucker for the Neo trainers ( which apparently is better build than my Neobike ) I’m tempted to get my hands on such a combination when the Square becomes available.
Brilliant.
Only problem is elite racing where there is hardware requirements. Even if Square itself is cleared what is used behind it may not be.
Can of worms
Least serviced demographic in e-racing keeps getting the short end of the stick.
So if I’m reading things right your 1200 euro just gets you a few bits of box section bolted together and you’ve to spend extra putting a trainer on the back of it…
Saw the Justo2 is part of the release news as well. From what I understand, the basic difference from the Justo1 is that it has WiFi connectivity directly to your app. How valuable is this if you’re running a pc setup anyway, since now we’re seeing floor clearance pricing for the Justo 1 models?
The square behaves like a Zwift play? So the square connects to Zwift the trainer as well.
Do the additional buttons also work with Zwift already like the play.
My stages SB20 is dying.
If I invest in the square and an elite trainer, do I beeft Zwift companion as a bridge for Apple TV? Or do I only have to connect the ATV to the square which mimic the Zwift play and control the trainer, which controls the rizer? And I have one spare connection left for my HR
From what material is the square made? Because even the SB20 is starting to rust.
Off topic, but just took delivery of a Justo and setup was easy. Good discounts available (in the US anyway) on the v1, since the v2 was announced. I don’t think I gave up anything I’d need in the v2 that was worth $300+
I much prefer how Elite integrated the game controllers above the brake hoods. The game controller style hoods of the Zwift Ride are a non-starter for me. I want my indoor bike to feel like a real bike, not a video game.
since Square is out (having it at home) I find that buttons are currently not working with Zwift. Wrote to Elite support they told me Zwift promised them to be integrated once trainer hits the market which is obviously not true. Any idea when this will be supported (hope not next year as with everything@Zwift …). ?
I don’t know if they were referring to steering on a smart bike, like a Wahoo Kickr Bike, or something else. Honestly I found their comment not very illuminating but would love to learn more.
