Drop Shop Update [Game v1.116] [June/July 2026]

Yeah there is some minor assumption that the bots aren’t taking the exact same line; he’d be doing it in an offline mode.

But I don’t trust Zwift to take the exact same line every time anyways lol

So yes, 100+m is extreme, but it is worst case scenario, possible.

We get a lot more from Eric than any real life company selling real bikes. What will everyone do if Eric stops his testing and detailed minutecha?

It isn’t necessary to have micro-second accuracy. I would care more about the next generation of frames coming. Should I wait until Fall of 26 or Spring of 27? Exactly how much faster will the 2027 models be? What pricetag will Zwift attach? 2 million or 2.5?

That is one of my points also. I hope it doesnt happen, but what if soemting terrible happens to Eric ? If it was Zwift providing these numbers it would just go on. It something happens to Eric and the website stops we are out of info completly.

Or in the case Eric gets an offer he cant refuse to buy his website with the clause he cant start a new Zwift website … or he gets a offer from MyWhoosh to do the same but has to stop with Zwift …

Zwift Insider and Zwifterbikes cant stop tomorrow without any warning.

Someone else will start up the same thing? Running a bot is a lot easier now, people can use AI to code it. You just need an account running offline with lots of drops and high enough level to buy whatever you want.

There is an optimum line and it isn’t the default one the Zwift auto steering forces you to use. if you don’t have steering, you get what Zwift gives you, good or bad.

Anyhow we will be chastised shortly for being off topic so we had better not discuss that here.

One thing which might be more for the graphics discussion elsewhere, I read a comment on Zwift Insider website on the new Canyon CFR Alpecin bike:

AMAZING IRL paint job! But Zwift color scheme just falls flat.

The person is right, in real life it has a stunning shine to it and reflective flakes in the paint, but in Zwift looks like a matte painted bike. Perhaps one day that will improve:

I wonder if the Zwift rendering engine and materials could simulate that shine?

That frame suffers the same way the new TCR suffers; straight up just some weird color.
I’m not sure if it’s laziness or trying to be overly safe, or what, but it’s certainly a design choice by somebody.

To answer the question though, it seems only a handful of objects have something that resembles PBR, road surfaces in the rain for example in the last few years. But that hasn’t been added to bikes or riders etc.

It could greatly alter the appearance graphically for Zwift for sure if it one day arrives.

Looks like you can all throw away your Level 5 Cadex Triathlon bikes:

Speedmax CFR TT is the new speed king everywhere.

1.25mil drops seems a bargain price!

Just 4 more Cadex bikes until I unlock the super cadex right?

Yeah, but grinding through another 40 hours of no drafting until it becomes faster than the level 5 Cadex.

Maybe if I ran a bot…

I will just use it on the downhills of ADZ. Ride uphill with Aethos. Swap to downhill with the Canyon. I’ll probably have level 5 by end of next year?

Maybe the level up requirements are too long, by the time people do level up something better is made available. I had the Cadex at level 2, it won’t get used any more. I didn’t use a bot or the timed event hack that some people used until it was blocked. With the riding I am doing at the moment, the TT bikes and halo bikes are unsuitable.

It is still fast however. So you’d just be spending every ride on Fan Flats or Tempus Fugit.

It is easy to see why bots are becoming popular.

Any new S-Works TT bikes on the horizon I wonder…

Yes as always

From the article :

That’s ~1 second ahead of the former king, the Cadex Tri.

Test results have an error margin of approximately 1 second.

Dont think I will bother riding a frame for 40 hours when it might not even be quicker. Cadex will do for now.

it is a better climber.

Thats a point. But I dont really enjoy TT’s and those with climbing in it are even worse, so still sticking with the Cadex for now. And its 7 seconds on an hour climbing. Dont see many climbing TT’s for it to make it worth it.

Will just continue with the bikes I actually like and than when I am all done this one might be done, but there could very well be another faster by that time.

Given that I’ve literally just finished upgrading the Cadex this morning…

… hard agree :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

In years gone by I would have been all over new frames/wheels even if the performance improvements were small. But with the drops inflation I’m now very careful about where I spend my fake Zwift money. I’ll stick with my Cadex Tri and SL8 (both fully upgraded) for the foreseeable.

It is the TTT’s where it will be coveted. WTRL has some sort of algorithm that chooses routes where they cycle through flat, rolling and hilly every week. This week is 3 laps of Hilly route.

It will probably get demolished when the new S-Works Shiv arrives:

So I would not spend 40 hours upgrading the Canyon unless you have a bot warmed up ready to go.

We got the Tarmac SL9, so surely we will get the new TT machine and being S-Works, it will probably be quite fast. I could be wrong, but surely Specialized will want this in Zwift to replace the old outdated Shiv bikes.

Those wheels would also go well for 2 million drops, hey?

They are good fun. And even better in real life when it is nice and steep and no sticky watts will help you. They hurt but they are enjoyable. Maybe less so with the lady and her dog walking across the final 40km/h corner while I’m hammering the pace. How she got through barriers I will never know. :open_mouth: She was one side, dog other side and long dog leash running between them.

but, what if it has a color slider? worth it for a fast red TT bike

I’m currently working on the new Tarmac SL9 simply becuase it is red

But you do two Alps a day and call that fun … I do two a year and dont even like it
