Drop Shop Update [Game v1.113] [May 2026]

Hi Zwifters

We have three new bikes in the Drop Shop, and two sets of wheels in game update version 1.113. Several older bikes and wheels have been removed from the Drop Shop.

Van Rysel RCR-F

Built to beat the wind. Developed in the wind tunnel with SwissSide and proven in the pro peloton, the RCR-F pairs deep aero shaping with high stiffness for maximum power transfer. It thrives at speed on rolling terrain — the harder you push, the more it gives back.

Weight rating :3
Aero rating: 3
Unlock Level: 35
Cost (in Drops): 1,500,000

Van Rysel RCR Pro

Developed in collaboration with the French Office National d’Études et de Recherches Aérospatiales (ONERA), the RCR makes no compromises. It is designed for a single purpose: to win. Give it WATTS, and it’ll take you to the next level.

Weight rating: 4
Aero rating: 3
Unlock Level: 21
Cost (in Drops): 1.400,00

Van Rysel RCR-X

Built for sustained speed. Developed with SwissSide, the RCR-X is shaped to minimize drag and maximize efficiency over long efforts. It holds momentum at race pace and stays composed when the pressure’s on — a bike designed to stay fast, all the way to the line.

Weight rating: 1
Aero rating: 4
Unlock Level: 40
Cost (in Drops): 1.200,000

SwissSide HADRON Ultimate 650

Engineered at the limit. The HADRON Ultimate 650 hits the UCI depth cap with a 65mm profile optimized for aero efficiency and stability. A refined rim shape reduces crosswind sensitivity while keeping drag low — built to hold speed and control when conditions aren’t perfect.

Weight rating: 3

Aero rating: 4
Unlock Level: 28
Cost (in Drops): 550,000

SwissSide HADRON Ultimate 850/Disc

Maximum aero, no distractions. The 850 front and rear disc are designed for pure efficiency, minimizing drag and stabilizing airflow at race speed. Developed with Swiss precision and real-world testing, this setup is all about sustained power and straight-line speed.

Weight rating: 1
Aero rating: 4
Unlock Level: 39
Cost (in Drops): 900,000

In game version 1.113, these bikes and wheels have been removed from the Drop Shop.

Just asking to ask; why are items being removed from the shop; is it to reduce upkeep on backend in case things break like weights, Cd or whatever?

That’s a decently large list of items to be pulled.

Meanwhile seems like the Dropshopflation continues to rise, with now :star: :star: :star: items costing nearly double what they used to.

For example, that 2021 TCR being removed (why???), is a 3-star bike, and is only 745,500 drops.
But that new RCR-F is 1,500,000 drops.

Literally double the drops for equal ratings.

:man_facepalming:

Meanwhile the RCR Pro with a higher rating costs less drops.
Make it make sense :sob:

Dropflation really needs to be addressed. For a long time people who’d been around a while had mountains of excess drops, but the pendulum has swung way too far in the other direction. A good balance would let you ride normally and make enough to pay for upgrades plus some amount extra for new gear that you don’t have to plan out months of riding to be able to afford. Things seem to be going way too far the other way.

It would also be nice if we could get a trade-in option on old equipment (as requested a million times), if nothing else make it available for delisted items.

You also need to tell us, Zwift userland, what the frame upgrade classification is (entry level, mid range, or high end) as that is a determining factor in whether or not these frames should be purchased. Some of us (like me) keep an up to date spreadsheet of the current available frames and wheelsets, and we would like to have all of this information when these frames and wheelsets are added as part of an update! I cannot tell what the upgrade classification is just from the price in drops - if that really is the case then all these Van Rysel frames are high end.

The Drop inflation adds a bit more interest and engagement, it encourages people to join the activities Zwift promotes that give more drops (so they can afford the latest and greatest bikes or wheels), rather than doing their own thing.

Previously the folks with hundreds of millions of drops could buy anything immediately.

Just lucky that bike maintenance you have to pay for isn’t yet a thing. A less frequently maintained bike would slow down and have more mechanical issues (eg, virtual chain drops or tyre punctures).

I think we still can

No that’s just insanity.

An average tier bike now takes 50 hours of ride time to unlock which was formerly closer to the 24 hours of ride time, with zero changes around how the currency works is all that needs to be stated.

If it “drove” engagement, people with century stripes next to their names wouldn’t be sitting on 20-80+ million drops and still saying “No I don’t want to buy a bike that gets in the way in the garage”.

Hoarding ingame currency isn’t user engagement either; but it’s proof of something being wrong in the system. Which in this case is continued ignorance to the request of garage organization.

And again… a 3-star bike costing more than a 3-4 star bike??? why?!

That’s fair enough. In the world of cars, a fast Ford probably outperforms a much more expensive premium marque.

What often happens is people say they like tron because it is colourful and don’t care to buy anything else. They kind of made it too desirable.

People also said we’d be clamoring over the specialty paint Canyons…

Guess what I never see in Watopia?
The commentary was clear across the board from the userbase about the MyCanyons; someone at ZHQ lost the plot.

And worth noting that the same calculation of ~30k drops an hour under “normal riding”, to have all 4 MyCanyon Aeroads (which… someone decided that this was NOT normal and went down this route of making them so expensive), would require 220 hours of riding… for the same bike with different paint jobs.

220 hours for 4 paint jobs.
There’s a reason why I never see them.

lunacy.

I still disagree with the Tron thing; it’s the same answer.

People aren’t spending drops because they can’t hide or organize their garage.
The Tron bike is the easy do-it-all. I still run into people on our weekend long ride that didn’t even know upgrading was a thing and just ride the tron bike because it was free.

You and I are not the average user lol, and comments like that on a ride prove it. But no, a mass majority of responses I get from users is they don’t buy bikes on the drop shop because they don’t want to make a mess of their garage.

Then return to my old comment about how scrolling in the garage is broken and is size based, not pixel distance… Meaning the more bikes you have, the more scrolling in garage skips bikes making things impossible to find.

I have to work for more than 50 hours to buy an average tier bike IRL

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

True. My IRL bike I ride now would likely be AUD$30,000 in today’s money. It was an AUD$18,599 thing back in 2018 with its special frame, Meilenstein wheels and THM brakes/cranks. It won’t be long before it reaches 50,000km, probably not what Canyon had in mind for their illegally light super-bicycle. I’ve ridden newer bikes and keep going back to the old Canyon.

The special colour scheme Canyons in Zwift should have been just options you choose for the one frame. I do like some of them but not enough to spend drops on a bike I won’t always use.

Absolutely spot on forum post, Andrew. I think the meaning of “user engagement” is becoming quite nebulous on this smart trainer platform. It’s actually starting to have absolutely no meaning for us veteran users of it. How about engaging the users for features we actually want?!?

My WinSpace SLC 5 with Dura Ace 9270 Di2 is under $7k and the UCI weight limit BTW.
