Disparity between ride distance & distance shown in profile

 Hi,

I rode an 80 minutes ride on zwift today, for a total distance of 40 km.

But, after uploading my data to garmin connect and strava (it did not upload automatically btw, i had to download the activity from zwift and upload it manually to garmin connect, even though i cliked on upload after the ride), the distance was only of 23 km and the duration was only 50 minutes… Knowing that, the summary of the ride just after the ride shown 40 km and 80 minutes, but the activity on the zwift web page was 23 km and 50 minutes long.

Why is there such a disparity between what i actually rode and what zwift recorded. I must precise that all my sensors batteries are not low and work perfectly.

There is only one point that set me thinking, during the ride, all riders were wearing the strava basic kit, and no names, or flags were displayed on the right hand side of the screen. The only thing I could see was the power to weight ratio.

Thank you for your answers.

Best regards.

Yoan.

(Sorry for my english i’m french  )

Yoan:

It appears that you were disconnected from the Zwift servers after 50 minutes of riding. Your computer/device kept running the Zwift program but the program was not uploading to the Zwift servers. So the Zwift servers recorded only part of your ride.

Depending on what device (PC, Mac or iOS) you use for Zwift, we can help you find your local record of your complete ride.

Thank you very much for the answer. I am using my PC for Zwift, running with windows 10 if it can help.

Yoan:

On a PC, here’s the directions from Zwift: “If for any reason you experience an issue, such as a game crash or Internet loss, your fit file is automatically saved every 10 minutes in the \Documents\Zwift\Activities folder on your computer.” You can manually upload the .fit ride file to Strava.
