Device battery power on pairing screen

The battery power status for the zwift ride controllers is displayed on the pairing screen. My heart rate sensor and power meter pedals are also powered by a battery. My power meter pedals are connected to my garmin watch which displays the battery power and gives a notification when the battery is low. My heart rate sensor just blinks some lights which are hard to spot when the battery is low, why not display the battery status on the zwift pairing screen. A low battery warning for connected devices would also be a nice addition.

I was going to write this exact feature request. My Garmin dual HRM battery gave out on the start line of a TT this week. I thought it was the chest strap but on connecting it to my Garmin watch, the watch was able to give a battery status indication in both ANT+ and BLE modes. The pairing screen would be the perfect place to display some sort of “Low level” warning if the HRM provides one.

Battery levels can be found in zwift logs but they can’t be bothered to display the values :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

This would be great for any similar devices if they can show battery status:

  • heart rate monitors
  • power meters or power meter pedals
  • core temperature monitors

Any of those kinds of devices.

So there is already a battery indicator in game on the pairing screen for Zwift Plays and assume Zwift Clicks so this is something that is already available and possible to have.

We need the same battery indicators added to the Heart Rate, Cadence and Power Meters. There is no reason Zwift can not display it as it comes across as part of ANT+ and BT.

Other Indoor Platforms have battery indicators already for these devices.

So many times now you have people who lose HRM through a ride etc and just having a simple indicator in game would make it so much easier to know how much battery is left. Not everyone who rides indoors will have a computer connected to see that data but the game can definitely show it
