Cycling speed calculation

Hello,

I am new to Zwift and have a question regarding the speed calculation of the cycling option. I have a Stryd which gives Power data, however I noticed there is also speed calculated in the virtual world. How does Zwift calculate this data? Does it estimate this from the Power data?!

Thanks,
Bruce

It’s actually ā€œcalculatedā€ and not ā€œestimatedā€ from the power (wattage), rider’s weight, height, weight and aero of the virtual bike frame and wheels, incline of the virtual world, draft factor, etc, etc.

You can play with a bike calculator here.

For running speed is not calculate or estimated, it should be close to accurate when using the Stryd (same speed as your treadmill). The Stryd power data is not used in any way to calculate speed within

You cannot use a Stryd for cycling.
