Cycling a route- how to know lead in length, start & finish?

When I rode PRL Half and PRL Full, there was no distance remaining indicator.

I think I know more than 35 that completed all routes.

You’ve quoted only part of my sentence - the rest of sentence carries the important bit. Of course there are many Zwifters that have completed all the Zwift routes, but very few who have traversed the standard Zwift routes as well as the Zwift-Insider Rebel Routes.

Cheers,

IIRC it didn’t show the actual distance remaining, just the progress bar. Also it disappeared for some reason for a while at certain intersections.

I was on AppleTV, and it definitely did not show a progress bar for either of the PRL routes.

Ok, I was on W10, guess the HUD isn’t 100% identical across platforms.

No one has time to read it all😳

We have been on Zwift for a long time I doubt there’s amy rebel route that has not been ridden.

And most of us don’t use veloviewer.

We did the PRL full this morning but it was in a meetup so I can’t confirm with 100% accuracy that it didn’t show the route progress. But I doubt it does. Only the routes that has a lap jersey show lap distance.

It’s been about a year since I did the PRLs, but I did post a screenshot of the progress bar on one of the many many many threads about this issue here somewhere. Of course it is possible that it was there simply by mistake and has since been removed…

Thanks for confirming @Anna_Ronkainen

As I said above, only 35 riders have ridden all the Rebel Routes AND all the Zwift Routes… You don’t need to use Veloviewer to ride a Rebel Route. You just need to be on Zwift. And what am I to think of one who elects to comment on content they’ve not read? This one should be of a manageable length. LOL.

This was when I did PRL Full on 13 Feb 2021.
AppleTV.
No Route Progress Bar.
The XP bonus was because I just got the 100 mile “No Big Deal” badge.

What you actually mean is there are 35 riders who have completed all of the official Zwift routes, the Rebel Routes AND are subscribers to VV (or, perhaps, Strava). You have no way of knowing if someone who is not on VV/Strava has done them all.

Actually its not even everyone on Strava that has done them either. But I’ll let him go figure out why he got that wrong.

When organizing a private group ride, the Ride Lead has the option (inter alia), to select a time duration (ie 60 minutes), or a distance. When selecting the route, the distance option will be pre-populated with the correct distance. But I always add a bit just to make sure the route completion badge is granted to participants. Here are screenshots from my PRL Full ride in January… Route progress bar was always present during the ride. However, there was no lead-in segment indicated, as far as I can recall. At the end of the ride, the Route Achievement was granted at the route finish banner, and the Group Ride completion message (yellow overlay) was displayed when the extra distance was completed.

It’s actually really funny that you think that only 35 people have ridden all the Zwift routes and the Rebel Routes. I would estimate it’s more like a
Minimum of 3500. I know more than 15 personally who have done it and none of them are on that list you posted because who uses Velo Viewer? Not anyone I know that’s for sure.

It’s actually really funny that you think a minimum of 3500 people have traversed ALL the Rebel Routes as well as ALL the Zwift Routes. Do any of your friends use Strava (the data source-feed for VeloViewer)? Have any one of them, who claims to have done such, capture their route segments for each (and EVERY) Rebel Route and we’ll have a simple answer. Should take about the same 5 minutes it took me to produce this refutation. Certainly you know, or should know, @Eric_Schlange_ZwftIn of Zwift Insider, who is also a demonstrated VeloViewer user. And now you know ME - a happy VeloViewer user! LOL.

VV doesnt pick up every Strava user that has ridden the routes. Not everyone uses Strava.

Well, certainly SOME Zwifters are on Strava! LOL.

So it’s clear that some people are just now becoming aware of these Rebel Routes. The very basis for the intrigue is their “less trodden” nature. A good metric would be to look at the classic Zwift climb - Alpe du Zwift. These ride statistics provide a good relative comparison of the differences. Have I claimed that everyone is on VeloViewer and Strava? Of course not! But not every Zwifter has climbed the Alpe, either. My intention here, is to add value, insights, wisdom, experience and enthusiasm – not to detract from others’ enjoyment. So let’s focus on the exciting, tantalizing prospect that an entire community of Zwifters out there, who are unaware of the Zwift-Insider-Rebel Routes, may now become exposed to the concept here in this forum. I think that’s a good thing!

I assure you… Making the assumption that someone who has gone to the trouble of riding ALL the Rebel Routes, together with ALL the Zwift routes, has also taken the trouble to get their name on the Leaderboard on the excellent, free Veloviewer site, is not a big leap!

This conversation has veered off the main route and onto a side route/topic…
