Cog is blocked

Hi everyone,

I bought a Zwift Cog for my Elite Suito T, but I’m having a problem with it. When I put my bike on the trainer, the Cog seems to be completely locked and I can’t turn the pedals at all, not even a little.

I’ve removed and installed the bike again three times, but the result is always the same.

Has anyone had the same issue or knows what could be causing this?

Thanks!

Can you post any photos? Is the Cog fully onto the trainer? Is the Cog rubbing against the frame?

Yes, sure. I hope the quality is good enough.

Hard to tell exactly, as I’m not familiar with your trainer, but it sort of looks like there is a spacer missing on the drive side, which might be causing the Cog to rub against the dropout.

Hopefully someone with more insight will chime in.

Might be both a missing adapter on the trainer and also the rear derailleur not shifted into a gear near enough to where the Cog is to allow the Cog adjustment to deal with the difference.

if you take the bike off the trainer can you move the cog fordwards and backwards by hand easily? if not then the cog isnt installed correctly, if you can then its something with the setup with the bike

Solution: Shift your bikes derailleur one or more gears to the left. Until the derailleur cage is in line with the cog.

Looks like the derailleur is now shifted to the right and therefore the chain is blocking the cog.

Definitely hard to tell for sure, as there is no photo from directly behind the Cog, but this definitely looks like it might be an issue based on what we can see. :+1:

The 3rd picture looks like the Cog is rubbing the frame. I am guessing it is the adapter that is missing as Paul suggested above. See how it should look - a small gap between the cog and the frame - you can see the metal drive-side adapter from my Kickr Core in the middle.
