Changes to Zwift Subscription Renewals [May 2024]

Couldn’t agree more. Zwift’s nearly complete disregard for user feedback on blatant bugs and steadfast refusal to address low hanging omitted features after years on end of basically unanimous user complaints, and the glacial speed in rolling out fixes/upgrades on the rare occasions they have responded, borders on contempt for paying subscribers and is unlike anything I’ve experienced with any other service.

Latest in the long long line of examples is how internally they obviously knew these price increases were coming, but instead of having these bare minimum upgrades to the HUD, gradient display, and one whole new climb (all things that should have been addressed years ago) set and ready to roll out on day one of hiked pricing, it’s a vague promise of maybe in June sometime and if/when they do come, we still need to brace ourselves for what new bugs and broken functionality will come with these updates, as Zwift ‘update’ tradition requires, apparently.

they did, but they didn’t remove the features (most of them… i wont ride them too hard for removing the batch activity download feature since two people doing that at once would probably DDOS the site). i know the cheque is in there for zwiftinsider and while i think eric is a sweetheart now i may have jokingly once called him a lube salesman while competing in the same zrl division as him, referring to his “PR lotion” sponsorship. ok, approximately several dozen times. i think as sponsored entities go, eric is a real one, honestly… i have some insight into how some of the other virtual cycling “news” websites operate and they irritate the hell out of me. i guess i just always have to be irritated about something, but these days i find myself thinking “i guess zwift isn’t really so bad after all”.

i do recommend everyone does at least try the competition though, after all i’m just someone with an opinion and this is, presumably, a forum for people who actually like this app

The odd bot names to flags was brought up by myself and others to IV from the begining of the open beta program, there was never real a response except for “it’s not a priority”, which is fair enough except they always went on and on about how nobody could tell the difference between bots and real riders, when in truth the most basic and easiest way of telling was the obvious name to flag difference.

We need at least family option… paying 60 Eur for 3 people is wtf? It’s almost 10% of minimal wedge.

That’s a bold presumption! :sunglasses:

I think it’s you, me and maybe a dozen others by now.

Once you localize you price for the local market IMO. Backdating current rates isn’t so accurate, it is the worst in 30 years. In any case, no point arguing. Don’t state there were no increases when there were when you are selling into a global market. Had they just an English site, etc, etc. Sure I’d agree with you.

In any case, used them since 2015 and seeing much smaller offerings deliver features that they appear to be unable to, or don’t due to greed/agreements with certain manufactures hacks me off. But guess that’s a different topic

Strava is introducing a family or friends discount to add up to three additional people.

I don’t complain, going to pay in Euros next winter.

100% agree with this. At the end if you are only using 1 app, you can’t compare A to B. And this goes both side, if you ride Rouvy, MyWhoosh, you should give Zwift a go.

I am personally not concern with the $5 price increase but the difference between MW’s free and $20 is a lot. I mainly only do training and it doesn’t justify $20 when I can do the same 20 min interval on MW.

That is not my quote. You must have quoted someone else.
I’ve never said anything like that.

they were quoting someone who was quoting you so probably tried to crop the text and got it a bit wrong

A 45% increase here in Japan and no annual subscription offers in iOS. I’ve canceled the auto renewal and have until mid June to try the alternatives.

20€ per month is too much, especially for people who only use a small part of all Zwift features. Cancelled my subscription (been on Zwift since 2016), will look for an alternative.

This makes the decision easy

Yep can’t argue with that, with zwift I’d cancel at the end of March, and that would be it till the end of October earliest, since I discovered MyWhoosh the other week I’ve done 3 rides on it, when I haven’t felt like/been bothered to go out on a proper ride, it certainly ticks all the boxes for this UK rider

Unfortunately not. MyWoosh doesn’t support ANT+ and thus my power meter pedals that I use as a power source with Zwift.

You sure Natalia? I’ve just had a look at the facebook page and I can’t see any posts saying you can’t connect via Ant+ You could always post on the facebook group and ask, they are very good at replying.

They generally use the trainer as the power source/controllable

ant+ worked the first ride but gave me problems on the next day.
I really can’t be bothered with things that won’t work right every time.

IndieVelo announce the release of their Apple TV version. That was seriously fast.
