Change the default perspective in settings

Everytime I start a ride I go through the following motions:

  1. Tap the screen to bring up the blue icon bar;
  2. Tap the eye icon;
  3. Highlight first person;
  4. Tap first person to select it;
  5. Tap screen to clear blue icon bar.

IWBNI the default perspective could be configured in the settings so I didn’t have to go through this dance every time.

we need this!!

Agreed. Same here!

I always use first person, much more immersive. The only time I switch to third person is on bumpy roads because the screen shake is annoying. Would be good to have this an an option to turn off as well.

Yes please. Such a simple and obvious request.

I’ll even take an .INI file parameter. Can’t be that hard.

+1 I agree

+1 here aswell

Hello Tim,

If you go to Settings > Audio & Video, there is a ‘Screen Shake Effect’ setting that should stop the screen shake on bumpy roads.

Yeah that was posted before they added this option. Still waiting for default perspective though.

While I use third person view (which seems to be the default) I do find the automatic camera cycling when joining a start pen to be annoying. So every time I join an event early I have to set the camera back to third person.

And another thing, the emotes always default to elbow so you have to scroll down to ride-on every single ride (if you want to give out ride-on bombs).

It would be really nice if Zwift would simply remember your last selected camera and emote. Then there’d be no need to add anything to the user interface. It would just save it at the end of the ride (the same way it saves bike choice/rider kit/user personalisation).
