First I will say. I’m a former Pelton user of 7 years. After my 3rd bike died I decided to try Zwift.
I just put together the Kicker Core and Zwift Bike. I watched the videos and have the spacers all there.
The issue I’m posting about: When pedaling it seems excessively easy for the pedal to just go the wrong way say about 1/8 to 1/4 turn the wrong way with no resistance. This seems dangerous and like maybe the chain is loose but I don’t see a way to tighten this.
I’m hoping it’s something easy that someone familiar with the bike could assist me with.
Hi @Jayme_Stockton welcome to Zwift forums and Zwift more broadly.
Shuji at Zwift HQ here.
I’m not sure you have an issue. If you backpedal, the rear cog is supposed to freewheel with no resistance.
I am not a Peloton user, and had to look up how the Peloton bike behaves if you ease up on the pedals. Apparently it is a “fixed gear” drivetrain, meaning you can’t stop pedaling as long as its flywheel is moving. This also means pedaling backwards gives the same amount of resistance as pedaling forwards. You should not expect this behavior from the KICKR Core or any of the smart trainers compatible with the Zwift Ride smart frame.
