Well, if you didn’t want a PC - I could recommend the M4 Mac Mini - I have one of those and it’s surprising how fast it is - and so small.
I got the M4 Pro version but know somone with the normal M4 version. Quite happy. I replaced a machine with a dedicated GPU and this runs much better, 60fps in Ultra everywhere no matter what, even with big groups.
The M4 tends to have very fast single core performance - probably useful for Zwift.
Thanks for the replies guys. Went for the M4 mini as they are discounted in the Amazon sale at the minute.
Still not as good value as a self build but I’d need to sink a lot of time and effort into that as I’ve no experience of it whatsoever.
I have a monitor I can use so should be able to set things up as soon as it arrives.
@Chris_D9 does it need an ant+ dongle or is it good to go out the box? I’m currently running everything on a pixel tablet that doesn’t need any adapters.
If you use ANT+ then yes it does. I have the Garmin ANT+ connected via a small USB hub. This is necessary because the M4 Mini has just USB-C and thunderbolt ports.
But my kickr bike runs Bluetooth. So I can do both.
One thing I’ve noticed, just keep the M4 Mini in a well ventilated area, it can get quite warm.
All connected up without any adapters so assume all my monitors etc are running on BLE.
Last question for anyone that might be able to advise. There’s a resolution option in Zwift itself. I’m running it on a QHD monitor. Should I select ultra or 4K on the resolution drop down in Zwift?
Will give it a proper spin tomorrow morning but just from setting it up I can see it’s streets ahead of my tablet.
