Anti sandbagging and other areas that need development and communication

I started to write “this is good ideas about sandbagging but lets keep to the topic…” then I read the topic…LOL

But policing Sandbaggers is not an easy task, especially in team events. I don’t think there is one one solution but what I want to see is an attempt.

Community = ZRL Organizing committee

Not sure who that includes WTRL and ZADA that i know of but not sure who else.

But i fully agree sandbagging in zrl used to annoy me but now it’s a case of if you cant beat them join them if you want to win.

WTRL /ZRL , they let riders take lap off, then go full Gas for a Banner?

yep you can do that if you are going for primes.

yeah. someone tried it in the last race of the season in my division. it didnt work for him, but even if it did, there’s separate points for being the first through each segment per lap too, which requires you to be in the front group. then you still have to finish the race, so you’ve got a long solo ride to do after that since you’re a lap behind

A quick fix is to extend the 90 day period to 180, one of the main issues in the last series was the long gap between series and many riders eased off.

It’s not the perfect solution but it would help.

If you just cruise around and go for prime points only you can pick up a lot of points. For a 3 segment race, 25 - 30 plus 15 - 20 finishing points will be valuable for the team.

I’m very unfit (long term injury) and stood in for a race last season and took it easy, the points I got finishing close to the bottom moved us from 3rd to 2nd in the race.

If someone goes for points on a particular sector in a race and then wants to cruise to the end, why not just do what happens in the Tour de France?

Allow people to go for the sprint or KOM points and insist on them finishing within a certain percentage of the winner’s time, or they’re not classified as a finisher and don’t get the points.

wtrl allowed the Special hunt for FTS Points ( Fastest Through Segment) and the waiting as they Said it can be a kind of tactics.

Zwift needs to autocat all racers or to built a Ranking point system. but as this Thread will go on in year 2022 , nothing will change .

Zwift says fun is fast. and not: fun is that we give you a good ranking system

Exactly.

But prepare to be disappointed.

What an awful selection of routes… Makuri islands, New York, Paris

Mixed bag, some stinkers but don’t want to take the thread off topic. But keeping it on topic, it’s a good schedule for the sandbaggers to get their 4 races in to be safe for the season

Don’t mind the routes but maybe a bit long for the lower cats but they could still shorten them. still would prefer the playoff TTT to have a few more lumps to reward teamwork rather than power smashfest but at least they have not started with a TTT and moved the playoffs TTT to last.

Genius to put the 20 min climb in week 6 so all the “really good B cat” riders can do 4.3W/kg up it. I can only assume they are doing it deliberately to show how easily gamed the W/kg category system is.

Well Charlie likes a Sandbag himself… to only be expected.

All the emphasis on FAL / FTS makes it a fight between the strong sprinters. Everyone else are just spectators.

Looking forward to Climbers Gambit. First few rounds will be dull though. TTT on Richmond will be a good test of teamwork.
