Yeah, that is correct.
Sorry, which is correct? That regular Kickr Core will only work with Play controllers and not Click?
He replied to Hans.
Yes, that’s correct. If you already own a KICKR Core + Zwift Play controller - you can use Virtual Shifting without having to buy a Zwift Cog. This is the same as when we introduced virtual shifting to Zwift Hub + Play owners through firmware upgrades. See this previous post.
@Martin_Ostrowski2642
The Play controllers or the Click shifters both control Virtual Shifting provided you’re using the latest firmware on your KICKR Core. You can pair both Play + Click at the same time, if you like, but that’s a bit overkill.
We don’t currently have plans to sell the Click as a standalone item, although our Planning team is aware of this request.
That makes sense, thanks for the response.
Is there an upgrade path planned for existing kickr owners in Australia?
As the current Zwift Cog is not compatible with the Kickr Core will there be one available soon? I have a Kickr Core & Zwift Play controllers but would like to add the Cog for ease of swapping bikes
Answered up stream already
Will the Zwift Play controllers also be available in Canada through Wahoo in the future?
I already have a Kickr Core and a cassette and would just need the Play Controller.
@shooj Any plans to also add 10hz to the core like the Hub has got ?because with less features than the Hub
seems like a downgrade.
Hiya, looking a getting second trainer and wanted to confirm whether or not this new Wahoo/Zwift collab unit with Cog and Click can be used to shift in other non-Zwift apps in simulation mode or is it like the Zwift One Hub where that isn’t possible. Thanks in advance for additional info.
currently it only works with Zwift
Thanks, that’s what I thought.
Feeling a bit let down by the situation, bought a zwift hub one at full price (less than a week before they knocked 50quid off) and found that firmware is now only supported for 2 years and the trainer is discontinued. Now approaching zwift for a refund as I am within 30 days.
I don’t think a £550 trainer should have a 2-year life span. Anyone else in the same situation?
There’s a discussion on this at the link below with both sides on the coin presented.
I have a Tacx NEO, 1st generation - there was no firmware update in the last 4 years. But that has nothing to do with life span - with more than 30.000 Zwift km I have absolutely no problems.
Thanks the thread led to an FAQ offering refunds and exchange with 30 days for a kicker core hub one.
I appreciate your point. I do however feel a sudden scrapping of a model/concept, rather than an upgrade to a model leaves the buyer with little confidence in ongoing support or the trainers longevity.
i’m actually pretty excited about this coming to my kickr v5. i’ve got pretty badly sweat corroded derailleurs, and just eliminating them and using virtual shifting will actually be a value add! the less pieces that can be destroyed by sweat the better!
