An audible feature for the Zwift app

Hello all,

Can you please consider to add voice feature on Zwift?
I basically want to create a virtual coach that has verbal ability.
Regarding the options of the voice,

  1. It can be a computer voice, however nowadays - you can not distinguish whether it is computer voice or human voice as it is quite well developed for the last 30 years of history(
    Human Voice Generator).
  2. Recorded Voice of normal human, or the creator of the actual Exercise program.

*** I do believe it could open up many possibilities for the Zwift community,

Especially for

  1. Anyone who want to listen the voice and see the screen for better motivation.
  2. Anyone who prefer just listen the voice instead of watching the screen continuously.
  3. Someone visually impaired individuals and others.

FY.I,

  1. If this feature require more payment, I am willing to pay a lot of money monthly - maximum $0.5 per month. :yum: - I hope NO extra cost for the membership.
  2. From my understanding, this feature will create more revenue the Zwift company, and SO, Hope Zwift would reduce the monthly membership price at least 30 - 50%.discount. e.g. $5- $18 per month.
  3. Other reference about new revenue source by adding the Audio feature on Text, Amazon’s Audible - Audiobook publishing generated extra “$1.6 billion” as of 2021 - it is the additional income to Amazon from the old TEXT only book Kindle.
3-1) As for $1.6 billion, I don’t think you’ll care how much Zwift’s revenue grows in the future.
Yes, me too. What I’m saying above is what the extra money means.
There are so many potential people who would rather listen to the content than watch or read it.
In my case, I used to use Kindle books, but now I spend 97-98% of my time using Audible
    because it’s convenient.

Kind regards
Aya.

*PLEASE feel free to advise me on my request above if you have any additional suggestions/feedback for the voice guide feature from Zwift.

I really dont see how that will correlate to additional zwift memberships… “voice prompts/coaching” isnt anywhere close to the same thing as audiobooks.

I do think its a great idea for the visually challenged however.

Hi Mike
Thank you for your feedback

  1. Regarding correlate to additional zwift memberships: I belive that it should be included the current pricing with the existing members as it is just adding the fature to the Zwift. - there should be no Extra COST for using “voice prompts/coaching”, from my understanding.

  2. audiobooks - it is just example ONLY about technically is it not too difficult to implement and there are so many free application in the market - to create the computer generated human voice,
2-1) I mean that adding “voice prompts/coaching” by Zwift is possible feature that can be implemented by the development team of Zwift,

  • in other words, it’s not rocket science but it was about 30 years ago.
  1. “voice prompts/coaching" - I believe It (virtual cycling coach) will give us the feel of a real cycling gym session.- :+1:Regarding real human coaching for cycling, there are several physical places and they are great and helps me to sweat a lot, but JUST one single problem: it’s quite expensive for each session. :zipper_mouth_face:

Thank you again and have a great day.

Regarding the options of the voice,

  1. It can be a computer voice, however nowadays - you can not distinguish whether it is computer voice or human voice as it is quite well developed recently.

  2. Anyone who prefer listen the voice (and reading books) instead of watching the screen continuously.
  3. Anyone who needs better motivation and want to listen the real voice of the legend who create the riding program.
3-1) however, step 1 - TTS (Text To speech),
step 2 - recorded normal human voice if TTS receive positive feedback ,
step 3 - real voice of the legend.

FY.I,

1). If this feature require more payment, I am willing to pay a lot of money monthly - maximum $0.5 per month. :yum: - I hope NO extra cost for the membership.

4). I replaced the screenshot from the previous request - ZWIFT forums does not allow me to change the screenshots.
5). I was trying to update the previous post however. - I was unable to update the screenshot of the previous suggestion so I had to create the new subject
6). Previous screenshot was quite low quality so I think that it is better to update - clear screenshots for improved communication.

[[Evidence about motivation to Brain from human or computer Voice]]

How does Voice affect the human brain?
From its ability to evoke deep emotional responses to its role in memory and learning, Voice has a profound influence on our psychological well-being and cognitive functioning. Exploring this relationship further can provide valuable insights into how we can harness the power of Voice to enhance our lives

Thank you.

Brain speech

[[RIDING at 373 Watts for three(3) hours.]]
CAN YOU DO THIS? I am not yet, I want to be similar to him - BIKE LEGEND - Chris Opie.

REGARDING THE AUDIBLE FEATURE,

  • HOPE THIS example Process below can be considered and implemented to ZWIFT, IN ANY WAYS.

STEP1: TRIAL of one short training session - e.g. “Ultimate Warm up - 16 minutes”
by implementation of TTS - TEXT TO SPEECH and
see the review from the ZWIFT riders
IF there are a lot of positive feedback from the ZWIFT riders in the world go for the step2

STEP2 : SECOND TRIAL with TTS feature of TWO OR THREE short training session (15 - 30 MINUTES)

STEP3 : LAST TRIAL - APPLY THE REAL VOICE OF BIKE LEGEND - Chris Opie. TO THE . “Ultimate Warm up - 16 minutes” SESSION,

*** BY THE FEATURE OF AUDIBLE - VOICE FROM ZWIFT. ***
I want to LISTEN AND HAVE TRAINING WITH the real Voice of “Chris Opie” who programmed the “Ultimate Warm up - 16 minutes session” and he motivated me via text message DISPLAY that he was riding at 373 Watts for three hours.

  • HOW CAN HE DO THIS? :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:
FROM MY EXPECTATION, HIS VOICE MIGHT BE STRONG AND ENERGETIC.
    :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:  :yum: :kissing_heart:

On a more insightful note, this feature is not only helpful for those who are visually impaired, it’s an essential feature in virtual reality.
In virtual reality games, where zwift has implemented birds singing, background music, and ambient noises such as trains, the implementation of human voices or TTS, especially the real voice of the person who trains you to ride a bike, will be implemented in the future when people realise the need, and I think it will be implemented sooner or later.
It may be 6 months, it may be 3 years, it may be 10 years, but I am sure it will happen,
When this happens on ZWIFT, I will do a review of how long it took after posting this article.

Regarding the Robo pacers,

Can zwift programmer make Robo pacers talk about your training progress? with an audible feature on ZWIFT which is much better virtual reality training. !!!

I am using the zwift time to time as per lack of virtual reality features - join and cancel the membership month by month when I have time.

I will update this topic when I have something new learned.
