2020 Rapha Festive 500 FAQ

Agreed. I just got an email from Strava that contained a link to enter the Canyon raffle, and some general info on the Festive 500 ride. I did check, and none of the links enabled the kit. The text of the page did seem to imply that the kit was supposed to be automatically added.

Now, at this point, Zwift has already said it’s Strava’s fault. I bet Strava would say it’s Rapha’s fault. I wonder who Rapha would pass the buck to. And everyone is on holiday. Personally, I’m not going to explode as long as I get the kit eventually, but they need to sort it out.

One minor thing to note, the Strava challenge seems to say that you need to do 100% of the distance indoors to qualify for the virtual kit. At least some people i know on two IRL cycling forums are mixing road and Zwift (or other virtual) rides. On the off chance that anyone here hasn’t done the full 500km in some sort of virtual environment, I don’t think you are eligible for the kit, but you still have today to fill out the distance. That’s by my reading of the terms on the Strava challenge.

Same here - no unlock code for the festive kit :expressionless:

Here is what I see on that Zwift site (at the link provided by Xavier:

HOW DO I KEEP THE RAPHA FESTIVE 500 IN-GAME KIT?

When you complete the Festive 500 Challenge on Strava, you will receive an email with a link to unlock the virtual Festive 500 kit in Zwift - regardless of whether those kms were ridden indoors or out. Click the link, sign in or create an account, and the kit will be waiting for you the next time you take to the virtual tarmac.

This would seem to indicate that you need to create an account somewhere (with Rapha, perhaps?) in order to actually get the kit. I’ve also been wondering if the e-mails with the codes will go out en masse on Jan 1, after the event has concluded, so that Strava can just do a one-time blast instead of sending them one-by-one as people complete the distance.

Same problem. Finished yesterday, got also the message from Strava, but couldn’t find the unlock code/link anywhere… (And I have been logged out of Zwift and Strava before!)

Please help! I also would prefer a solving communication between Zwift and Strava…

Would imagine that Zwift could email Stravs and resolve this really quickly. But as usual looks like zwift don’t care about their customers.

One of these days this lackadaisical attitude towards their customers is going to comeback and bite Zwift on the bottom.

Is Zwift even doing anything? Or will the Rapha kit be just be an illusion and a scam. At least Strava congratulated me for finishing but Zwift is a mute dog i think

Comments above from Zwift said contact Strava it’s their problem.

So complete challenge on Zwift. Jersey is distributed through Zwift…contact Strava.

I appreciate that the challenge is not a Zwift challenge. But there must have been some agreement to distribute the kit. Zwift could resolve this easily by contacting Strava but look like they CBA

Yup seems like we ask Strava. Zwift will not check or is none of their business. But we pay subscription to Zwift… Good Customer Service. I wanna cancel and look for other provider options of this is the case

That’s the issue… There is no competitor… And they know it.

Just a quick FYI that the T&C page for the Festive 500 states that the competition doesn’t actually open until 12:01 GMT on December 31. So, technically speaking, it has not even started yet - at least as far as entries for the Canyon Grail are concerned, anyway. So, perhaps kits will start being awarded AFTER the ‘official’ start of the competition.

I have had the same problem. I completed the Festive 500, got the email but there was no link for the jersey unlock. I also agree that it would have been much better if the unlock had occurred automatically after completing the 500 km , with a screen congratulation thrown in.

Are you going to fix the Jersey unlock and how will we know when you have done so?

Thank you.

That’s an interesting side note, because this is what it says on the Rapha site: (note, I’m not sure if that link is a personal URL for me or if it works generally)

Since virtual rides count towards your 500km total for the first time this year, we’re celebrating by releasing a special Festive 500 digital jersey featuring a design inspired by the actual kit. All participants who complete the entire challenge on Zwift will get the jersey added to their garage, ready to wear over the coming year.

It seems like the two statements contradict each other. This doesn’t affect me, since I did the whole thing indoors, and I don’t suppose it will affect most people here.

Yes, it does seem a bit of a mess, doesn’t it? Now I’m debating whether I need to rack up a few more Zwift miles, since I have a 54 mile outdoor ride in the mix.

@shooj can you chime in on this one and clear things up?

Same here regarding the in-game virtual kit. All 500 km were ridden indoors on the trainer. I received the “Rapha #Festive500 completed!” email from Strava, but do not see any kit unlock link in the email. I logged out of both Zwift and Strava accounts before clicking on the “Learn more” and “Redeem reward” buttons in the Strava email, but neither approach unlocks the virtual in-game kit.

Hey all - we have unlocked the Rapha Festive 500 kit for anybody who participated in any in-game Festive 500 group rides. Head to your Garage and you’ll find the kit. No need for you to do anything from your end.

Thanks for your patience while our team worked diligently on this.

@shooj that’s great, but what if you rode the 500km (either in Zwift or as a combination of Zwift and outdoor rides) but DID NOT do one of the Festive 500 rides (which was not listed as a requirement to get the kit)? What are the stipulations for ‘the rest of us’ to get the kit?

@Nigel_Tufnel
We have you covered there too:

Step 1: log out of Zwift on your web browser
Step 2: Click this link
Step 3: Log in to the Zwift account once you reach that page

@shooj that seems to have worked!

So, are you saying that anyone who completed the Festive 500 will need to follow those steps in order to get the in-game kit? The logging out of the online account (which I rarely do, since I use ATV to Zwift), and then clicking on the link you provided and logging in again will solve the issue?

@Nigel_Tufnel
You should go to my.zwift.com on your preferred web brower, log out of the Zwift account there, and then click that link above.

You’re not logging out of the game client (Apple TV or whatever OS) unless you happen to be Zwifting while you’re reading this. If you are - then yeah - log out of the game client too.
