Zwift will not survive - BTW I love Zwift and have had a subscription since last year

Yeah, my input was basic rant; but, the intent was to give an example of what may trigger user apathy. In this case, it was triggered when I looked at the calendar and saw Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays dedicated to London, just about, and only 2 days for Richmond.

Now some context…

I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast where we experience a chance of thunderstorms on daily basis. When it thunderstorms we have to hit the trainer (Wahoo Kickr). We don’t want to ride in virtual rain or dank subway tunnels with 15 degree inclines.

I spend a significant amount of work time in San Diego (reside in La Jolla). I got Mt. Soledad and all the hills/canyons of North county outside my door. When I hit the trainer (Wahoo Snap), I don’t want to be constantly hitting hills.

I love Watopia and Richmond. I get stronger during, the longer I go, every ride. But, with London, 30 minutes is my wall of desire.

Now another apathy trigger, that I didn’t mention…

Zwift workouts, I really, really, wanted and tried to use them; but, unless something has changed, the only post workout data is virtual Strava segments which from a training perspective is useless. The other issue, while doing intervals, during recovery intervals, if the interval is set to too low of a wattage and I’m going up hill, my avatar may stop.

So, I am not using workouts and try to avoid  London with a passion. The Zwift team has to know this by usage data.

Annnnyway, I still have hope that Zwift will become exactly they way I want it.

In the interest of balance… I like London, it reminds me of London. I don’t care for Richmond.

“Annnnyway, I still have hope that Zwift will become exactly they way I want it.”

How does that reconcile with thousands of other users if there are so many people seemingly unable to compromise and tolerate other views.

I really don’t like Richmond but guess what, I ride it anyway. I know many people hate it and I know many people like it, so there really is no point in demanding it to be removed just so I GET IT THE WAY I WANT IT.

London is a much nicer and demanding course and the Landscape is much nicer as well.

Just learn to be more tolerant! The problem here is NOT Zwift .

Haha…I don’t even notice the courses anymore… I’ll I do is stare at my own back or the my watts/hr anyway…

I love Zwift and have been a user since it came out. Think back to this time last year. We had limited courses, no race modules or anything like that.

The problem is, There seems to be a huge ‘gaming geek’ following that simply want everything straightaway. It simply isn’t going to happen. Things take time to develop, I’m guessing the team is pretty small compared to other ‘games developers’.

At £8 a month, its at the top end of my budget as I’m already paying £4 a month for Strava. I can only hope they don’t look into increasing costs as this would deter me and would look elsewhere for entertainment.

For me, Id like to keep it cycling performance based rather than becoming more ‘gamey’ with gimmicks. Unfortunately the gimmicks play into the ‘geeks’ hands which is understandable as they will make up a huge percentage of customers and you’ve got to keep them sweet. Unfortunately I think this puts a lot of serious cyclists off which is a real shame.

For me, at the moment, everything is running awesome, the courses have never been so busy and it all makes for an interesting time on the bike.

Zwift, stay awesome and ride on boys and girls!!

Just started using Zwift this week. I am so excited! I like everything about this platform and it’s so convenient. I wish this company the best!! Thank you for creating Zwift  BTW, the only issue for me is my derrière (despite the extra natural padding) not being used to being on the bike. But, I’ve read that it’ll get used to it. LOL
