There is also the myth that ZRL is going to sort the floor issue but even that is false. Tuesdays ZRL is a points race and many are only going for the sprint myself included couldn’t care less about Leith Hill.
I don’t disagree with most of that.
Where can I see my new seed score? Don’t see any info on that.
Weight & 10min power?
But that’s correct. If you’re small and light, you’ll do well on hilly races, but badly on flat ones.
What we should have is multiple racing scores, similar to what the TdF does. So I should get TT points, hill climb points, flat race points and hilly race points.
Or, I just realise that I need to play to my strengths. I can pick my races to achieve the results I want, just like real life. I could enter a hill climb but I know I’ll get thrashed, so I’ll enter a crit to give myself a chance. There’s plenty of variety on Zwift.
Just wondering how overseeding lightweight riders and under seeding heavyweight riders was unexpected, when you landed on 10m w/kg (and not a compound) as the seed. Firstly, that’s very obvious. Secondly, if that’s what the modelling produced as best fit versus zrCS, the model should probably go in the bin.
Given how 5min W/Kg was often a critical factor is predicting zMAP under Category Enforcement, maybe it would be better to undercut zrCS and use 4min Watts x 4min W/Kg (with a weight factor like zrCS) and then scale it from 0-1000 for seed score.
A quick look through my saved rider profiles on zwiftracingapp shows an awful lot of the successful Category Enforcement Ds now back together in Racing Score pen E…
At least a few of them would be in Racing Score D if we were now simply using 100% seed score and abndonning the silly idea of reprocessing results from 25th September under the old seed score formula.
I still like the idea of making points given to the top ~10% of a race pen being added to a racer’s seed score for a given amount of time, a bit like “success ballast.”
The only place is to look at your very first ZRS race or the last race you know your score was on the floor and work it out from there.
Something like this could work maybe!?
60kg ZRS X 1
70kg ZRS X 1.1
80kg ZRS X 1.2
90kg ZRS X 1.3
and so on
Close enough for yours…
I should caveat that with, only valid for the next 12 hours and the seed metric changes again.
Am I right in thinking 3.6 w/kg is the limit for 180-350?
I posted that limit up there ^^^^ yesterday
“3.56wkg for 10 mins with a floor score of 330” so probably slightly more than 3.6wkg, at 2.8 for me I am probably in the bottom 10%, I might as well hand back my Sandbag Podium Brigade membership…
Hi all – as promised, here’s an update on the Zwift Racing Score adjustments.
We have an updated seed formula that removes the issue of over/under seeding riders based off of their weight. We have confidence in the new formula as it leverages the compound score proven by ZwiftRacing.app. We’ll begin rolling out the changes today, starting at 12 PM PT. As with previous updates, you may notice scores fluctuate during this process. We are still planning to do a reprocess of races since the last reset in order to ensure people don’t lose their progress that was made over the past couple of months. Thank you for your patience and continued feedback as we work to refine the system.
We’ll provide our next update at 5 PM PT with progress and additional details.
Under a new seed score, the opponents racers will have will often be different, reprocessing races since 25th September is such a silly idea.
All the reprocessing will do is skew the initial pen placement some racers will get, sucessfuil ones under seed score v1 will be placed high and unsucessful ones will be placed low.
Please, just give us all 100% seed score, based on seed score v3 (hopefully a good balance of Watts and W/Kg for a given time duration, ideally in 4-6min ballpark).
I can and I will continue to race, but it was awfully strange to see a person just ride off the front of a 180-350 race averaging 3.7 w/kg for the entire race. They’ve now been upped to a racing score of 385, but I was definitely annoyed during the race when it happened lol
Both pedantic and incorrect
Awesome news! Thanks for listening!
Nice one! Got there in the end!
Thanks, Ryan.
This change is a huge step in the correct direction. I know that with zwiftracing.app compound score formula in place, we will have a known good seed formula that will get riders grouped into competitive ranges within a reasonable margin of error.
With that initial placement finally sorted, ZRS score movement can begin to do the work of further placing riders into the correct score range based on their race craft, ability to suffer, motivation, etc.
Thanks for listening and adjusting. We’re directionally correct now and I’m looking forward to where things go from here.
