Zwift Racing Score - Seed V2 Release [December 2024]

Sorry if this has been covered but: it says in the blurb that some activities outside races can increase your race score. Do we know what they are?

I am planning to try it out today. I’ll just ride, then do a couple of flat out15s sprints and end the ride and see if it has made a difference. Then I’ll try a ride again but hit some sprint segments all the way through.

Yes, everything on Zwift. So workouts, free rides, group rides, and so on.

EDIT - sorry, that’s wrong, what I said will change your seed score, and not your ZRS per se if you have other results.

In ZRS v1 a 30sec PR would improve your ZRS. With ZRS v2 only your 10min power matters.

This is so so silly. 30 sec power wins the race. My team are all lower than they ever should be now. Three are moved from A to B and one to C pen with ZRS. That’s old A’s in three cats with 10 wkg+ numbers for 30 seconds. What could go wrong.

And before I get told again, of course they will move up quickly! Doesn’t change the fact that someone else’s race is getting destroyed by approved "sandbaggers entering races the game recommends. :grinning:

Ah right. Well, last night’s TT was my best 10 mins by far so I’ll leave it there

Is this working? Eg. why would last place in the A pen have a decreased score (down arrow)?

Or another example, 30th place in the D pen.

The known ebikers are detected by hr response

Capture and publish crank length and slope setting - then short power outliers would reduce

go back up look at the video i did on why 30 sec is no good and not working the way lot of zwifter think it would work. @Si_Ree_HTLT

30 second power was putting Cat Ds with good sprints in the same pens as Cat Bs racers without a good sprint so they were 10 minutes behind at the finish line.

There was old school Cat B racers in the D pen yesterday with the new system.

That is not going to change currently.

i think by the end of the next week lot drop riders , will cat them self up. me to. i will be back into C group. i was 246 now 290 , on my way back into the C soon.

But your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to win the overall trophy for all three zones of Tiny Races pen E tomorrow! :exploding_head:

I think Zwift are moving the pens in January so any old school Bs will be in at least the new C pens then hopefully if their scores don’t climb and get them there before then.

I thought they said everything will contribute to seed score determination but changes to ZRS was from races only

We are saying the same thing but an individualized seed score should get folks there quicker.

The past month of racing in group D 180-350 has been some of the best I have experienced.
Maybe Zwift just needs to reorganize racing every 2-3 years and change the power interval and cat definitions to favor different riders.

Maybe the error is the search for the one perfect system.
The world doesn’t have experience with amateurs that race 3-6 times per week, every week.

Sorry, you’re right, I was referring to seed score so my answer was to the wrong question. I will edit my previous reply.

That’s why zmap needs to be weighted heavily in as well. 30 second power and 5 minute power rule all but ftp. 10 minute power is stupid as it won’t factor in 99% of 30 minute races and many can get over almost any non mountain climb in less time than that. I try to do the least watts on climbs to save my legs as I’m a sprinter. I also will self select against long climbs so now what?

30 sec + zmap + minimum ftp value. All that’s been accomplished is a return to A- E pens based on long duration efforts and a shambolic experience for many until it actually gets sorted. I can easily sandbag 10 minute power and still do 10wkg for 30 seconds without actively trying to sandbag!
