Zwift Racing Score [October 2024]

I’m raising the question “why do we have a range of abilities from A to D cat”. No asking for help with my fitness. Maybe you should have considered that before jumping on your keyboard

I’m looking :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Good to see you got some intervals in. Keep it up.

Not bad for a first race.

Funny, your original post has no question in it. You simply blamed Zwift for your poor race craft, which I responded too… rather crassly I’ll admit.

Not sure about that race, but still plenty of pre-CE races continue to be configured, e.g

absolute legend. this is how make your own fun in zwift races, young grasshoppers

That’s why ZP is becoming irrelevant. Zwift’s results say you came in 4th, and field had 15 finishers. ZP ended up with 6.

Not sure why you feel compelled to quote just four words each time you reply, to justify your response, or why you now being insulting. Whatever floats your boat dude. I’m just fed up with the new improved system which has too large a gap in abilities. That message for Zwift. No need to reply! That’s for you

There is one attainable KOM out there that requires a decent pack speed and a 30s effort and perfect timing.

London lead in up to the Classique. The best mini game is going for it and causing absolute chaos behind.

I’d encourage everyone to try this for seeding.

Plus some of the most notorious cheats started hiding their sprint power / fit file.

Well, there were 27 at the start, so I guess there’s that too

Give the new system time, they (Zwift) are continuing to make it better and are studying all the results. You have a better score than me and I’m able to hang in the races so you should be able to as well.

Better score might not mean better performance, hundreds of riders with worse score than me but are a lot faster, Scores don’t correlate with performance which is the main problem.

nothing to do with RS, but if Zwift actually included DNFs in their results as DNFs (of course at the bottom), it would probably make a lot of people complaining that they’re finishing near the back, feel a bit better.

Hypothetically if someone is between cats Their 90 day power is 85th to 95th percentile in the lower and 25th-30th percentile in the higher. They podiumed 95% if of their last 20 lower cat races, winning half.

Where would you want them to be placed? Would you expect them to be angry about being moved up? What reasons would put them in the lower one still?

In an ideal world the system would look at the exertion needed to get those results (TSS or something).

If they’re chilling cat up. If they’re going at ~90+% remain in cat.

I’d be bummed if I were to upgrade now because I’m doing 100 TSS in 1 hour races that I’m competitive in (basically a few wins & mostly top 10’s). I’m on my absolute limit.

Bump me up a cat and my races will probably be easier since I’m not fighting for a win but ‘cruising’ in the dropped pack to smash the finish. If the pack is fast I’d expect max 80% exertion for a bottom half finishing position. I will still be competitive in some races against some opponents but it will be rare.

At the same time, I personally don’t necessarily enjoy winning the most, I enjoy a good race. Last ZRL race I was happier about my super ultra power strategy move bridging to the break away than I was with finishing 4th (I actually messed up the final).

i like(d) to joke about everyone in the top 100 or so in ce B being in and out of it like institutionalised criminals but i can’t imagine any of them ever being angry about it. that’s some p4 energy

i do get on my soap box about A pens having few riders in them a lot though unless you ride the right races at the right times

Why would you bother doing a race if you thought your scores said what place everyone should be in at the finish?

As the owners of Chris Froome and Enron shares are no doubt aware of, past performance is not indicative of future results.
