Zwift please give back our XP after level 60

AFAIAC it’s a bug as the concept of banked XP (I have over 1m) would be a bit daft if this was by design.

not really if it was to work out who should get double XPs and for how long, some people would have needed double for some time between 50 and 60 but not the whole thing.

James, I agree it would be a bit daft, but what should happen to banked XP once you have reached level 60 has not really been explained. If the policy is that people will continue to gain XP and this is just a bug, I guess I’d just like to know. But frankly, it would be nice to just be able to quickly get back to the level where I was a few weeks ago that I spent a lot of time getting to.

So, this is definitely being looked into at the moment.

My understanding is that you should continue to receive double XP until you reach your banked amount, but I’ll confirm either way once I know more.

What is the logic behind this instead of just giving them all back seeing as there aren’t any more levels to progress through?
either give them back or don’t, to very slowly give them back when there is no reason to acquire them seems bizarre to me.

I don’t make the rules.

I’ll update when I know more.

James, I totally understand you don’t make the rules, and I appreciate you listening to our various issues/concerns. Having said that, I agree with Chris… I don’t really see the logic of letting people get back what they’ve earned slowly. It’s kind of a kick to those that have been some of the most loyal and prolific Zwifters on the platform. I’d prefer to just get my XP back, but at least I’d like the compromise of the 8X rate we had when Zwift jumped from 25 to 50 levels.

It makes no sense to trickle back XP that has already been earned. There was such a long gap between the release of levels 26-50 and 51-60, that it would take some of us years to earn back our backed XP even at double the rate…. Why not set up endless levels? I doubt any of the higher level riders care about unlocking new items, but it would be cool to just keep climbing up levels.

I totally get what you guys are saying.

I don’t know the rationale for why XP was reset. I suspect to ensure that everyone had to earn the new levels - as opposed to the way we did it last time and you just got them straight away if you had the XP.

Tim - Whilst it may seem like a trivial task to set up additional levels, please believe me when I say it is not, otherwise we would have added a bunch a long time ago.

That isn’t how it worked last time, you got to choose to work through them at normal rate or to accelerate through at 8x speed.

I’m pretty certain you had the option to either work through them manually or use your existing XP to go straight through the levels.

Either way, what happened last time isn’t relevant and it is different this time.

I think one way around this is to let people know the road map for more levels.

Is 60 it? if so no point having XPs at all once you get there.

Are more levels going to be added? If so how will people who have been sat at level 60 for ages work through them next time? if it is the same as everyone else then no point having more XP than 750,000 until the new levels. if it is accelerated like this time then makes sense to add all the remaining banked XPs back.

I appreciate it isn’t your call on this just putting my thoughts here in case feedback is able to be passed on (I’m not shooting the messenger!)

Yep, understood.

Yeah, if/when more levels are added, there will almost certainly still be people who are still on their way back to their original XP, when they would presumably be in for another reset and extra special double acceleration or whatever. So many ways this would go wrong, much easier to just give people their original (and the other half of the acceleration) XP back after level 60.

Leveling in perpetuity is hard to implement; therefore it shouldn’t be done? This may seem callous… but I don’t really care about the difficulties; customers by virtue of their purchase have a right to expect a certain value. Other games manage it; why can’t Zwift? Additionally, there has been a history of programmers in their spare time accomplishing things that Zwift told the community wasn’t possible (ZwiftPower, Zwift Hacks, ZwiftMap for Strava, Sauce, Painsled app for rowing, etc.).

Will it be a bit easier if we don’t get socks and caps after level 60, I am happy to just see that number climb as high as I can.

The fire socks was a nice addition but the rest of the goodies past level 50 not so much.

Sorry, I genuinely have no idea what point you’re trying to make.

I suspect a lot of people share this viewpoint. If anything, I would love a feature that would allow me to cull or archive my wardrobe/frame/wheel inventory.
