Zwift please give back our XP after level 60

i think it was this bit they were referring to

“your XP is still counted in the background so you are still accumulating XP.”

Yes it is still accumulating.

@shooj can confirm. :sunglasses:

once someone hits level 60 why not just give all remaining banked XP back? what is the point in slowly gaining it if it doesn’t actually affect anything?

I’m just going to change over for something a bit different for a while. Not cancelling Zwift account or anything like that, just need to do some different things to keep it interesting.

Ful Gaz has some of the big climbs that I’ve done IRL, so that’s part of its draw (hint to Zwift, hint).

Since we can’t see XP points easily watching drops go up gives you something to do while following the pacers

I wonder if Zwift would accept secret monthly payments? “Trust me, you can’t see the money, but it is accumulating in the background”.

Those XP points are mine not Zwifts. I earned them now give them back. Don’t steal my XP points. Put them in an email that says here are your unnecessary XP points. Or let me cash them in for a custom Jersey I designed.

I reached L60 last month and asked customer support a few questions. They responded with “knowledge base” type nonsense, refusing to admit this issue or when it will be fixed. Only one Zwift person has ever actually helped resolve issues and treat me like a customer and he’s on this thread. Rather than escalating this or my growing list of other significant technical issues, I subscribed to another virtual cycling app, and I’m enjoying it as I transition away for Zwift.

what is the reasoning/logic behind not doing this?

Like most subscription services, Zwift is not focused on retaining long term customers; their main aim is to gather new subscribers. Zwift does not care if a few level 60s leave the platform. Zwift’s dream customer is someone who only has 67 rides, but auto-pays every month. The customers who only ride once a week have enough to keep them busy forever, but those pesky high-level riders keep completing stuff and asking for more which creates work for Zwift.

I have yet to get a response from the contacts I sent to Zwift. I suspect they are not answering because they have no explanation and no plan to fix it. Zwift seems to be hoping that if they ignore the issue the level 60’s will get fatigued and frustrated enough that they will stop asking.

James did say above that Zwift is aware of this issue.

Being aware of the issue is not the same as fixing the issue. “We are aware of the problem”, is often used as a brush-off statement to appease someone while simultaneously avoiding commitment to any specific action.

I cannot understand why they didn’t just give all banked XPs back once you hit level 60?

What is the logic in making people slowly get them back when they aren’t going towards more levels? and that is even if it worked as it was meant to but instead they just stopped everything at 750,000.

Don’t assume there was any

Probably the easiest path was to cap it and make everyone start over at 500,000… :man_shrugging:

Yeah, i don’t see the point in acquiring more XPs if there are no more levels but seeing as they do let you acquire them may as well just give you it all back in one go?

It’ll be interesting to see what happens to the people who have been accumulating them but have been stuck on 750,000 to see if they will get any back?

Not a brush off. I’m continuing to chase this and did so earlier today.

Thanks James for the update. In the short/medium team we can rest assured the XP is getting banked and we can keep having fun with friends on Zwift Mooo

James, a question I have is whether the 750k XP ceiling is a bug or policy? In other words, was a decision made at Zwift HQ that all riders will be capped at 750K XP until new levels beyond 60 are announced? If not, what exactly is the intended policy for riders XP beyond 750K? I’m pretty sure there are quite a few riders that had amounts well in excess of 750XP before the new levels came out. For example, I had roughly 1.8M XP before the new levels. What is the intended policy from Zwift HQ for that remaining ~1M XP once I hit level 60? I haven’t seen anything official about what is supposed to happen at that point.

I think I saw something that said you would continue to accrue them at 2x normal amounts until you have them all back. Which seems kind of ridiculous to me, i think i’ll be on double XPs for about 2 years.
