Another week gone by with ZRS and my observations remain the same. D grade continue to be absolutely pillaged by outliers… C has become the new B2 group. I’m getting some negative feedback about ZRS again this week from my team mates.
just 1 rider in E in one race i looked at as 180 is quite a low score. The trend seems to be the same in that lighter weight or heavier riders with poor sprints (30s) power continue to be advantaged with lower seed scores. ZRS was meant to make racing more competitive but it’s just got faster and wrecked most D and C races imo.
Couple of examples out of a lot…
Surely I can’t be the only one seeing this? I’ve reached out to ZHQ and got told they aren’t planning on any changes.
The scoring is fundamentally broken. They could have learned from something that was working quite well but they refused.
Amongst others:
Thirty second power has no place.
Look back should be far longer.
Shouldn’t be so easy to tank score (or possible at all).
Should use the principles of ELO
Unfortunately IndieVelo is buggy for me, mouse cursor is not visible…, otherwise I’d be doing that. Now just doing one race a week compared to multiple a week in previous years. Creating experiences that are bad, having a topic with thousands of comments on it and just ignoring it is a slap in the face of every Zwift user.
ZRS has turned Zwift into Netflix for me, I spend longer looking for a race/film than riding/watching, the chase races which I enjoyed most are pointless now as Cat C and D are almost the same speed, if you get dropped from D then you aint drafting C when they catch up.
you didnt mind trying when you were riding alone off the front in this CE race, what’s the difference now that you’re off the back?
more like a slap in the face of the the ten users making the comments. anyway they explicitly said they were still reading it. whether because they wanted the feedback or just for their own entertainment, i can only advise that they leave us zwift users hanging on that one
CSI Zwift.
FYI I have been trying to select ZRS races on basis of average 20 minutes w/kg, hard to do as some folk don’t join to last minute and some join and don’t appear in the race but I have had a little success, most of the races though are pointless though.
To answer your question on whats the difference of being solo in the race you posted is I am/was chasing riders in front and being chased by riders behind, when you are off the back with no chance to catch anybody and nobody behind you then at that point you are not even in a race.
brother there were like 6 D cats in that race compared like 30-40 in the ZRS races. and you didn’t finish last in any of the ZRS races. well either of the two i looked at… i’ll do us both a favour and refrain from spending more than two seconds looking as long you stop irritating the f out of me on these forums daily
I had some weird stuff going on with my ZRS, yesterday it was 480 then tonight I went to jump in a race and it was 555, I did the race in the 520-690 bracket that it put me in and right after I was back down to 482. An hour later I’m 418 What the heck is going on? I race 3-4 times a week and have been sitting around 470-480 for a couple of solid weeks, I have no idea what’s happening.
So would you expect a lowly lady D C rider to suddenly elevate from 220 to 399….and other more powerful riders to go the other way…? Has to be an issue with the algo …
