I don’t really use workouts much but agree the search facility could be better.
For now the best help I can give you is if you know the full name and know it is still in Zwift [2500+ workouts are in Whats on Zwift but are not in game] then you can search All Workouts alphabetically in Zwift Companion App or in game - Not ideal but possibly better than nothing.
Have a read through the first post of this thread as it may explain how you can transfer/copy workouts from What’s on Zwift using PC or Mac.
Sort of. In Companion App if you know the exact name of the workout you can choose All Workouts ( instead of Collections) and then choose to sort A-Z.
It’s not exactly a search by name but makes it easier to scroll down to the correct workout. Many workouts use a number at the start so the A-Z sorting picks up the numbers first before moving to A.
@Gareth_Hall, If you know the name of the workout, you can find it through the Companion App. Select My List, Add Workouts, then search all workouts by name A-Z.
Your chosen workout(s) should appear on the home screen with the workout tiles.
@Tim_Melville yes, same as Zwift desktop…there is 500+ workouts to scroll through, a simple search function will make it just that little bit easier if you know the name.
I find the old style workout selection that you access through the in game menu to be more useful than the new style one on the home screen, although the accordion/show-hide components aren’t the best solution for large amounts of items.
Yeah, I would love a search for workouts (also the ability to favourite the ones I use all the time).
Last time I went to search for “The Gorby” this was my flow:
Went to the VO2 Max folder, scrolled the whole thing, wasn’t sure if it was under “The”, or under “Gorby” but then realized it’s not even in that list.
The workout is 1 hour so I then backed out and went into the 30min-1hr folder to find it, scrolled looking for both “The” and “Gorby” to find it was not in that list.
Ok, so maybe it’s in the “60-90 mins to burn” folder. I go into that folder and eventually find it.
What I’d like to do is just have the gorby as a favourite, or with search type “Gorby” and have it show up to select right away.
Edit: This is just my last experience searching for a specific workout, same type of issue with other workouts.
Not on an iPad correct? I’m not able to launch Zwift on my PC.
Edit; Oh I see you mean to save them as custom workouts - I thought it required creating another folder. I’ll try that. Either way I’d prefer search and favourite functionality
If they are in your Custom Workout folder they are easier to find. If you wish to use sub folders then you need to be in game and on a route, then choose Workout option from menu and then you can find your subfolders. Yes also on IPad.
Well, I would assume those folders would have to be created on the PC correct? I know you can see them on iPad once they are there, but Zwift hard crashes for me on my PC so I can’t even get the game up and running on it.
No the folders can be set up on IPad. [picture above is from IPad and I just put The Gorby into Favourite on IPad.] I call them subfolders but it is probably more correct to call them Tags. You browse your Custom Workouts by Tags.
Fully agree Zwift search facilities could be better. You probably know your way around Workout searches much better than I do but my two immediate thoughts:
All workouts can be put in Alphabetical order. A Search by name is better but, for now, putting all workouts in alphabetical order makes scrolling through them all much quicker.
Thanks for your input. Yes I’m familiar with these functions. But it’s still not a search function.
I still have to sift through X workouts, and/or open several sub-groups , then after discovering the desired workout is not in that group, go back to the top level and start again.
As for sort ALL workouts alphabetically….
I guess we don’t actually need Google, hey… they could just list all the websites and we can scroll through it until we finally find the one we need
A simple thing like repeating a workout should be a no-brainer. I should be able to pull up my workout history and select a session to re-launch. Or at least provide a search function. Lots of commentary in the forum supporting these ideas going back years. Come on Zwift what’s the hold-up??
