What is the point of Weekly streaks

I will shortly achieve 52 Weekly streaks, but other than the usual +500 XP which everyone gets each week regardless of whether they are at Week 1 or Week 52 what is the benefit of achieving or continuing to stive towards a weekly streak?
Should those who get to week 52 be automatically upgraded to the next level as a due reward or should you apply some sort of weekly % upgrade to the 500XP to encourage people to ride consistently e.g. Wk 1 = 500 XP, Wk 2 = 500+2% XP, Wk 2 = 500 XP + 3%. At least then incentive prevails otherwise weekly streaks are pointless and you may as just as well credit every rider on Zwift with 500XP points each week for nothing (which I think is in fact what is happening at the moment).

IIRC it’s less than 500XP for weeks one and two. I think it’s 300XP, 400XP then 500XP thereafter.

So maintaining your streak means you don’t lose out on 300XP. =)

other than that… there is zero point to weekly streaks

Well, for people who are going to ride every day anyway the weekly streaks are not that much of a motivation. But as with every weekly bounty in any game Zwift’s goal is to create a weekly pattern for folks who otherwise wouldn’t be riding every week. Basically keeping them engaged with the platform.

For those people who otherwise might not even get on the bike each week 500xp is a bigger chunk of their weekly XP, so it would be more motivational for them than someone who is going to ride 2hrs or more a day anyhow.

1000XP for riding twice was better though. :sob:

Actually, 1000 xp per week would have required me to continue my subscription through our the Summer in order to get 2 rides per week.
One ride per week of 1.5 miles was easy with the free monthly 25 km.

XP are so meaningless now days.

I too will be at 52 weeks this coming Monday. I’ve been pretending that zwift is gonna surprise us with a new jersey unlock or something when we hit 52. But I highly doubt it. I’m gonna log in at exactly 12:01 and do 2 miles real quick so I can be the first to 52, just in case theres a special prize for first. Again I highly doubt it.

I hit 52 weeks after yesterday’s ride.
I didn’t see anything special.

Great forward planning, Seth. Let me know if you receive anything special!!

Poor show, Zwift. Guess we should be seeing what Rouvy or My Whoosh offer to loyal customers!!!

I actually think it’s a good thing they don’t reward a very long streak, as at some point that would put pressure on people to do something unnatural.

I play another game where I’m on a 3 year daily streak for something and now it’s really a different amount of pressure to keep up a basic streak (over vacations off cell service, illness, general life stuff, etc.) which overall probably has caused more annoyance than excitement when I look back on it.

Tempts people to Zwift and so they don’t get a “welcome back” free month code for lack of Zwifting?
