UCI esports worlds 2024–26 not on Zwift

The list seems more restrictive than what Zwift had for eSports events correct? I think they only needed ±2% accuracy. For instance the Kicr Core was on the allowed Zwift trainer lists, is a popular trainer, but is not on the short list here.

The 1.08 ruleset still only has ± 2% but the info sent out to riders were the same list as the MyWhoosh before wc qualifier last winter with the expection of the also having the top model from wattbike.

There is a list in this article All About the Continental Qualifiers for 2023 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships | Zwift Insider

Wonder if mywoosh would even allow an LGBTQINB+ club/team to form there at all or racers to race? I am going guess no, due to it is UAE in the middle east with it’s culture. What cultures or groups UAE will take offense to just simply existing and just want to ride. They are going to run into problems their when trying grow worldwide or lawsuits by national bodies that allow thoes communities to race. Which will benefit zwift as national bodies will not want to run esports national or qualifier on different programs. Sport gov bodies would want all in same program on same course. Reason why zwift is better overall that is inclusive of all people. UCI made a dumb move just for money. When Zwift has the people already, allowed trainers, and verifcation process.

FYI, the new Zwift ruleset that looks similar to mywhoosh.

Perhaps race organizers could be given the option to apply some of this ruleset to racing for us non-elites? I do believe Ebiopassport already does what mywhoosh and zwift rulesets seek from athletes.

Have you asked them?

they can. well, they can’t get zada to sift through your entire training history but many of the major zwift event leaders are in communication with eachother and quite a few of them have some pretty deep knowledge when it comes to interpreting power data and spotting BS etc. and as an event organiser they’re able to request extra verification from riders who participate in their events if they want

extra verification like that takes a lot of manual effort and time though so most people competing in community leagues will never get asked

This is all true, however an organizer’s only remedy is to give a one-time DQ. They can’t stop the rider from coming back or harassing some other organizer’s events. This makes it a game of Whac-A-Mole that solves the problem only for a single event. Zwift needs to invest in better automated detection and sanctions, directing those riders to support, etc. I guess the alternative is for organizers to share a blacklist of known offenders sort of like known senders of spam email, so one organizer’s assessment of a cheaters and people with faulty equipment can be seen by others. Improving Zwift’s process would be the better solution.
