Is it making people think that? I tend to just pedal harder if I’m going backwards and pedal less hard if I’m going forwards. I tend not to look at my own numbers much, let alone anyone else’s.
IiRC, Training Peaks Virtual shows speed rather than watts or wkg.
Don’t we just normally suggest that they should go ride with a slower group with a snarky remark about “ego” as a “helpful” further suggestion?
What’s wrong with people just changing that as they wish? You can do this easily on companion app on the phone, it would be logical that changes the hud on the Zwift app as well.
One of the racing topics disagreed with that and reckoned lightweight riders had a huge advantage everywhere. From the over and over complaints, you’d think it was totally unfair and that it must be stopped… Mind you when you are actually light weight, it’s quite a different thing compared to folks who just set their weights 30kg lighter than they really are. Unless the road goes up very steeply, then everyone heavier than me has an advantage.
Well at least I had a great race today on Stage 1 of the Zwift games on the Kaze Kicker and Zwift power removed the guy that came first so I received my first ever first place.
Not sure how he managed to fudge the system, only 218W average and out front on his own for at least half the ride. I was pretty much drafting all the way and still had to do 251W average on what I would call a mainly flat course with an ideal distance of sub 30 minutes for heavy riders.
Probably should not have joined the race 48 minutes early and done a whole lap as a warmup before racing.
Don’t look at the power, look at the height of the person, then you’ll have your answer. You are making the mistake that the other racer was doing recently.
That’s the one thing you cannot see in Zwift. You have to look at Zwiftpower to see that (if they have an account).
Really, there is no reason not to show the height of a user in Zwift. The same reasoning that allows weight and height to be shown on Zwiftpower should also be used for Zwift in general.
Otherwise, don’t show weight and height (and changes) in Zwiftpower either. It shouldn’t be both ways.
Anyhow, this is all getting off topic. Sounds like something for a different topic about racing.
Doesn’t count if its not in ZwiftPower Paul, simple as that.
You need to be registered and have the right gear, heartrate monitor etc or basically it never happened. Not registering for Zwiftpower is not an excuse.
He is age 56 and sorry I would have had to be doing 325W plus average to go solo out the front like that, that’s B Cat material mate not D Cat it was only a 0 to 270 race, he probably picked up a DQ for being way above that.
Unfortunately, of course, this is just your opinion. 32 people in your race showed up in Zwiftpower results, while 57 show up in Zwift’s results. I’d guess those 25 missing folks (including the winner) are perfectly content and fine with the results dashboard they can see themselves in. Probably a good number of them don’t even know what Zwiftpower is.
What does matter is that folks are using devices with reasonably accurate power figures and that performances that are clearly and obviously dubious are flagged and removed, preferably automatically with the opportunity for the user to query that later.
Things like 30kg drop of weight from one day to the next should be flagged, big reductions of height, things like a combination of Zpower trainer and holding 400w with 60rpm for 30 minutes or more and no heart rate, no cadence or power changes - this should be an obvious flag. Other obvious red-flags should be gaining more than 3km of distance with 0 watts power output.
These are things that would improve Zwift for all users, not just racers.
32 with a result, 22 not listed according to Zwiftpower, not sure where the other 3 went. There is always more race starters than finishers as well thrown into the mix.
Edit, sorry my mistake that’s “22 not listed” for the entire event, all categories. This would imply registered but DQ for some reason ?
Perhaps a better breakdown of exactly why the 22 were not listed would be an improvement. Even just a couple of categories, Not registered and DQ. Might help validate the results further. I’m going to take the win.
Pretty sure most people that start racing are aware of Zwiftpower. Casual riders or beginner’s, probably not.
I know Zwiftpower, but not interested in racing so never bothered to set up an account. I’m only interested in improving my real life speed and power, not in finding hacks to get virtual race wins.
Having a Zwiftpower account is no guarantee of "casual” or “beginner”.
I just have to ask why ? Must be everyone’s dream to hit A Cat.
If you are going to actively start doing even a few races a year I would be on Zwiftpower, not that hard to setup, did it years ago and only done 39 events.
No its just starting to get interesting, start a new topic if you want a moan, there is nothing but people moaning on here, I delete most of the stuff without even bothering to open it.
It’s OK, both of you are enjoying that winning feeling. A podium on the road plus a ZwiftPower 1st place is a nice result that you can feel good about, but I can tell you that crossing the line first feels even better. If you get there, you will know what I mean.
